Totally get that - we are all different in style/preference/whatever but one thing is for sure - there has never been a better time to be a MTBer - there is a wheel and tyre and bike type for every single one of us to get just what they need. (y)
I remember a test ride I did on the South Downs...
[apologies in advance for anyone I've sent to sleep with this! I'll post it all up anyway as it will be useful info to have in this topic for any nutters like me interested in all this stuff!:giggle: ]
Plus is 2.8/3.0 or so and quite specific as a sub-size as not just the width changes...
Ahhh, I'm old school 'pick and choose' (26") hardtail/fully rigid rather than plough and cruise! ;)
Definitely don't want Plus tyres - I'm the ex-BMX Gary type - any 2.4 suits me with narrower rear, wider front but might have to go 2.5/2.6 I think.
Whatever though - tried wagon wheels once...
The Sektor fork is not the best, the 2019 Revelation with the Charger damper and 35mm stanchions is a big step up. You can find them for about £300 as new takeoffs on eBay and you should get £175 for your Sektor if sold brand new take off the same way.
The 36mm Fox would be a good bet too -...
I noticed on someone's bike on here a pretty cool looking top tube protector (black on a blue frame IIRC) - rather like a motorbike tank protector...
Anyone got any links or tips for this sort of thing?
It was all Helitape BITD but not wanting to go down the all over Invisiframe route what do...
Big chapeau to the OP for incredible work on this product.
However.......is there every likely to be a simple hacked software solution so we can all enjoy the basic thing many of us want and agree is fair to all - simply matching the US 20 mph limit?
I would have thought due to EU law the warranty would have to be the same in all EU countries including (still for the present!) the UK, ie 2 years. I doubt very much any manufacturer is going to give four years or more - at least not until Hyundai, Kia etc start making E-bikes when hopefully...
Very true. I’m going round in flipping circles here but I made some schoolboy errors in my calculations and all things considered the gap with (my very specific) buy/sell/upspec is not so huge as I thought so I may well go blue after all. o_Oo_Oo_O
The hanging onto parts is a reasonable idea...
As per title really - Shimano go 203 rather than 200 but wondering if anyone has got Shimano's on there with the Sram 200 rotors? I know it can be fettled with some spacing washers but wondering if anyone has done it successfully with the original mounts and rotors?
Sounds good - anyone else reading this topic please post pics of your Hyper Green. :)
I guess like many you want to ride what you like and know so for me Hope Hubs/custom build wheels, Shimano drivetrain and brakes, different gearing, Spoon saddle, non-Specialized tyres, carbon bars, longer...
That doesn't make sense - the Vitus is unbelievably speeced for the price, almost perfectly put together whoever did it - you don't need to change a thing out of the box. The Levo spec is appalling in comparison unless you go right up the range by many £thousands over the Vitus.
Which Levo are...
After this topic I have just calculated again all the permutations of getting the base and stripping/selling and actually getting the spec I really want (pretty much all would go bar frame/motor/battery/headset/rotors/cranks/seat clamp/headset) and it does indeed make a *huge* saving getting...
I think (again) after reading back my post I'm nearly (again) taking myself out of the blue to the baby poo yellow...
It's a heck of a lot of money extra to arrive at the same place but with a blue frame... o_O:cry::LOL:
[Edit - you have to add in the hassle factor of course (selling the...
Hi - I'll chip in as I am in a very similar position and have spent (weeks) a long time comparing spec, reading reviews, calculating upgrades etc. I'm also going to go back on what I posted in another topic about the fork etc having looked at it more.
I have to say for my sins colour comes...
Specialized have always been pretty good on colours (except for some wayward early 2000s) especially when they stick to the one bold colour and one simple graphic.
It's also pretty cool they even give you a choice in many models, many mainstream bike co's don't offer that.
I've been eyeing up...
