Gutted! I would have loved this, but am way this weekend. Been riding up in the forest couple of times this week already and conditions are brilliant. Not muddy and leaves still crisp not slushy. I knew as soon as I put my mudguards on the rain would stop.
enjoy a great day out.
interesting. i haven't come across the smash pot before. seems like a nice idea. Have you used it on the Zeb?
Have to say I do really like the Zeb. though it does stiffen between lower leg services - Finbar Saunders anyone?
I almost bought a Levo SL, but could not get my head around the extra cost versus spec for a smaller battery and motor versus the full-fat Whyte E160 I finally purchased. I feared I'd be riding around thinking I'd been ripped off all the time. It's not like EMTBs aren't very pricey already for...
very interesting.
I'm going through a chain every 450 miles. 5 chains so far, but cassette is still OK. I've been using muc off dry lube in summer and wet lube in winter. The wet lube especially attracts the dirt and drive train needs a lot of cleaning.
definitely keep us posted on how this...
This is an interesting point. I even own an old 853 steel hardtail XC MTB which has a strengthening bar at this point of the frame. That bike has a small 160mm rotor. Seems like in all the CRP excitement some of the old truths have been forgotten.
I'm glad my EMBT is alloy. It was something I...
I plan to use my Ebike for different purposes and will swap wheel out between activity types.
Do you think that I should swap brake pads at the same time as I swap wheels in order to keep the rotors and pads matched? Similar to chains and cassettes which wear in together.
The Zeb is now running 170mm up front. All working well. Downhills are improved a touch as is ground clearance thank heavens. Not noticed any instability increase thus far, but haven't done any very twisty climbs yet.
this one is taking a strange turn.
I ordered the RC shoes. I thought they looked amazing but couldn't get a good fit. My feet were always a touch too wide for the right length shoe. The shop suggested the Spesh 2FOs. The fit was OK although I always have the sense when I look at them that the...
Watching wheels on Ebay as I write. Tricky thing is the hub motor. Might have to build a good dual purpose rear wheel with the one motor.
The other tricky thing on road duties is the assistance cut off of 25kph. On the flat, all acoustic bikes roll faster than that and I can't keep up with...
I got a Canondale Topstone NEO SL with the Ebikemotion hub motor. Lot to say on it, both good and bad.
Bought it to ride King Alfreds Way with my fitter friends. I'd have been better off on an acoustic hardtail MTB. I wanted a Kinesis Range flat bar but couldn't get one and saw the 'Dale ---...
I was recently told that Tredz was bought by Halfords.
Used them for years and they were great, but recently (18 months?) the parts delivery has been very poor.
However, I also recently bought an E-Gravel bike from them and the delivery and service were terrific.
I was confused, so the next time...
I have E160 and use this water bottle:
https://www.wiggle.co.uk/prime-pro-race-bidon
it has the lowest bottle height for the volume that I could find, which gave me enough clearance to the shock. cheap too.
I coupled it with a lezyne side loading cage, but any side loader will do.
Take your point. Maybe an incremental approach is the way to go. It's also true that there are a couple of corners on my usual climbs that can catch me out - I even came off on one recently (shame faced emoji). I could always go to 180 at the next service if I want to find the limit. Assuming...
yes - you're missing 96Kg of body mass in my pants and then a limit on how much extra air you can actually pump into the can! I bought a higher pressure pump to help get it up to 300psi, but even then the sag is more like 35%.
Has anyone tried increasing the travel of the Zeb on the E160?
Mine is a year old and will go for a 200 hour service shortly. Was wondering about increasing the travel to 180 at the same time.
I know there will be howls of 'spoiling the geometry' etc.....but has anyone tried it? If so how much...
