So after a thorough dry and clean of all connections, I connected the SMPCE02, installed the latest v5 of etube ride professional on the laptop and ran maintenance diagnostics against switch, display, battery and motor. All passed.
Went for a test ride all fine.
Went for a big Ridgeway ride and...
I'm 102kg without kit (not how I ride!) and I would expect close to that on mostly eco with trail only on tougher climbs. ie about 30 miles and 1,000m climbing. It is the climbing that really eats the battery. I can do 30 miles on 50% battery if I only do 300m climbing. So I figure about 1000m...
Also, you cannot ride across the Lulworth Firing Ranges. When they are shut, the army continue firing even if you are in the exclusion zone and even when they are open, bikes are banned and the Range Wardens still patrol for safety reasons so people don't stray off the paths as there is a...
I was an early adopter of Cateye Stadium when buddies were riding 6v lead acid powered lights. No one would ride in front of me because of the shadow they created! Pretty happy with the chinese Cree lights on handlebars and helmen=ts though appreciate the batteries don't have much run time or...
Mine threw two e10s during a 46k ride yesterday - no obvious pattern, but maybe damp or debris in connectors - so time for a good cleanrun the diagnostics with SMPCE2 and see.
Given e10 is a general connection error, without other fault codes or replacing every item ie cable, switch, display...
I'm 6'4" and on XL. I have found dropping the saddle down when riding more technical stuff and keeping low , mobile elbows bent etc as others have mentioned, also heels down a bit makes you much more stable. In fact I only ever have my seat up on max for long smooth climbing. Most riding is done...

Commecal have bikes for October.
We ride a lot of local trails that have cow hoof holes in them and this is awful for stutter bumps in the dry. Apart from suspension setup we find just dropping a couple of PSI to 26 or 27 in the front can vastly improve things. Did a ride yesterday that included hoof depressions and square edge...
I use the Schwalbe Hans Dampf Super Gravity Current tyre and am 100kg - I had no issues at higher pressures (over 26PSI) but I started going to around 24 to 22 for a little more grip and to try it and dinged my rim and I don't ride big or hard IMHO(I'm a 62+ Whimp!). I'm keeping above 26PSI now...
Contact hope direct and they will tell you when they have availability. Mine took 4 months.
If you're really stuck I might consider letting go of my DT H1700 as it's in great condition. It's 29".
I messaged them and they sent me a quote. The Spectral is the 2020 spec with e8000 and 504w battery. Wouldn't commit to a delivery date. Guess I could offer to collect and pay on arrival?
in this beautiful British summer my clear eyewear are so wet with rain, steamed up and splashed with trail muck I've gone back to squinting and lots of blinking to see where I'm going and miss the trail obstacles. Until I have A/C, demister and wipers, protective eyewear still has it's...
