A KMC quick link is probably your best choice. Other 11 speed links may fit but KMC is sure to fit. You will also need a chain breaker tool for field repair and a piece of steel wire (to hold a short section of chain with no tension while you work on it).
There are usually flats milled into the spider to allow the chainring to sit flat. In this case the chainring may be bolted to a non-flat area of the spider which may (or may not) cause the bolts to have an uneven pressure on the parts. In the end if it works then it is ok. ;)
Regrets for my SL? None, the SL is just great on the Florida flat (but sometimes bumpy) trails I ride. Except when we finish the dirt/gravel part with a short paved uphill section and the people I ride with hammer their 28 mph Vados and my SL quits at 20 mph. ;)
Old proverb: Those who know are not saying, those who are saying do not know.
It's like the inside info about new rides at Walt Disney World that we hear from the bus drivers. ;)
Interesting: to lift 125 kg (rider + bike) 1200 m takes about 400 wh, not counting efficiency losses and the rest of the ride distance. If the other rider was not putting much into the pedals we can see why he ran out of battery power.
Stupid laws of physics! ;)
I ride a 43 km loop with...
I have anti-vibration valve cores in my wheels and they counter the micro-vibrations so effectively that I have not had any trouble climbing the hills here (coastal Florida). ;)
TQ is a cycloid drive which have been around for a long time, just not in bicycles. They are used in robotics to get a lot of gear reduction in a small package but robots don't care about noise. ;) I will keep my SL at least until the latest innovations become the well-tested and proven old...
One of the reports noted that some of the battery packs were "rebuilt" and some chargers were not made for the specific bike/device. Even high-end and approved batteries/chargers are not always safe: the recent Chevy Bolt (and other EVs) warning to owners not to park the car in the garage nor...
Helical gears are quieter than straight cut but apply an axial load that requires the housing/bearings to be made stronger/heavier. Belts... not much more to be said there.
The SL/Mahle motor does not have many failure reports so it is probably one of the more reliable motors.
The SL/Mahle...
Indeed! ;) An engineer for my entire career, I considered marketing "the dark side". Change for the sake of change just so they could blare "new, improved" even if it didn't do anything better for the customer (unless we include a lighter wallet as a feature).
I hope Specialized does not...
