They are 'wired' with a mix of Series & Parallel. Can't remember all of my training but if all one you would get high voltage and low capacity and the other high capacity with low voltage. To power the motor and get a a balance of power & torque you need both.
I had a US spec 2019 Scott with the e8000 and a Levo with the Brose. The Shimano motor started tapering off around 28kph, but i could peddle through that and on long shallow declines could peddle up to 40sh. With the Speshy it starts tapering off at 29kph but is like hitting a brick wall at...
The bike I rode the other week that rattled - was exactly what I thought it was.
Power cable not fixed down and slamming through a rock garden a connector was banging against the frame - was piss-poor set-up at the shop he purchased from. Considering they have only sold a handful of ebikes...
I sighted one at my Sheshy dealer last week. The owner told them there was very little difference over-all between the fat tired 27.5 and the 29ers with 2.5 front and 2.4 back. Some things were better and some were worse (like gnarly rock gardens) but the thought it felt more planted.
Hoping...
When out playing today there was a guy who asked me about a noise he was hearing. Took the bike for a short ride down a rock-garden and heard it. Pretty certain the noise was the wiring loom slapping against the down-tube - at least that was my impression.
Had one of the first Giant 29er...
Was a really hard day at the office today. 30+ temperatures, stuck at the desk doing phone support and getting pretty damned frustrated.
Just kidding - had a brilliant day and pulled the pin at 1pm to go out and play.
Ran Geax Mezgals on my 26" bikes for several years. Used to do lots of point to point events that included mostly gravel roads, but a fait bit of seal - seemed to wear well.
I have Serfas Drifters on my spare wheelset. No difference in speed as with either knobbies or slicks I always sit on the 32kph limit but certainly a lot cheaper than the knobbies I use and besides giving much better grip on ashphalt they also last way longer than knobbies on the hard stuff...
242 is a Medium strength compound as is 243. However they work with different metals to a better or lesser level.
242 has a higher strength for Steel (100%), then Zinc plated, then Brass, then Stainless (about30%)
243 is 100% for Steel then Zinc Organic, Brass, Zinc plated and Stainless -...
On my analogue bikes (except the SingleSpeed) I have used one of those two with no issues, but having deformed hollow pins due to my weight and the power I can generate climbing. I figure the added torque and power of an ebike should at least equal that, making them an iffy proposition.
Kept my Scott Genius when I bought my eGenius and even rode it a few times, but once I bought the Levo that was out the door. Need 2 bikes as I couldn't handle not having one to ride if I had any issues and will put slicks on the Levo when my 2020 eGenius arrives.
KMC X11 EPT
There are several KMC chains but this one seems to last well enough.
SRAM GX Eagle 12sp
This is mid level for the SRAM Eagle series. The higher level ones have hollow pins so I stay away from them. The next level down NX Eagle seems a bit clunky with shifting and while 1/3 cheaper...
