Ask nicely.
Don't assume your panini and latte cover the cost, or the *perceived* cost. Cafe owners don't know how much juice you are using for that massive battery. Just point out it will be about the same as a laptop and can i make a donation to the charity jar on the counter. Chuck in a...
Things that have commonly caused me clicks or creaks (filtered to only include those that occur with wheel rotation):
Spokes - Check if any are obviously very lose and nip them up.
Cassette / Freehub - Had various problems where the cassette was lose or seized or on wonky. Try taking the...
The good news is that battery density will be 25-30% better in 10 years time.
So for the same weight as my Levo SL setup today, I could have 400Wh in the frame and 200Wh in the Range Extender. That would be pretty sweet.
And I'll be 10 years older myself, so I'll probably need the extra Wh for...
Levo SL (320Wh) plus two range extenders (160Wh each). Have never needed the second RE. Maybe 20% of my rides need me to use one RE. So i guess my answer is 480Wh.
3000 miles on the same GX cassette, but on the 3rd chain. The whole bike is a bit creaky, might be the drive train. But not like it's slipping or ghost shifting or anything, so I am gonna ride this chain and the cassette to destruction.
How much risk would there be to the jockey wheels and...
Fubozone or Fobozone? The amazon listings can't decide (one name in title, different name in pictures). But thanks for creating the forum account today just to promote the product.
Evans should replace them, simple as that. A good LBS wouldn't demand a proof of purchase - If they stock the item they should be able to process a faulty replacement. But Evans isn't a good LBS anymore. Sad to see what they have become in the last two years :(
Would I still want to ride my '98 and '01 analogue bikes today? I could, but nah. I'd be buying a lighter weight 1x 29er with hydraulic brakes.
Same for ebikes. The tech will move on, fast, over the next few years. I am fairly sure once I've done 5 years on my eeeb I will be ready for my next...
Everyone who's saying 'there's loads of Tile users in my area'. Is this based on what the app is reporting? Because my app says 400 odd users near me. But I believe all that means is they are registered users of the app. That doesn't mean they have Bluetooth on and the Tile app running to be...
A little even-longer-term update on my long term review: I kind of wish i had bought he optional wooden base now. Two years in and the metal base is chipped through to the steel in several places. I will have to get that sealed to avoid rust. Was inevitable as I have a gravel path and the sharp...
I usually blame noises like that on the brakes - The pads in my G2 always rattle around unless i spread the metal spacer thing between the pads.
I could imagine that with the pads essentially just hanging loose on the screw-through retainer bar that even a minor tremor in your room would be...
It does strike me as odd that we don't see more 'no name parts' in the consumable bits of the drivetrain.
Headsets, hubs, even cranks (including the chainring) it's not uncommon to see no name parts, even around the £1k price point for a bike. With a bit of digging you can work out the supplier...
If it's a brand that can be found on entry priced known-brand bikes, go for it. Otherwise I'd steer clear.
Brands like Joytech sound like cheap Chinese components, but they are 'fine' and you do see them spec'ed on regular bikes (my Norco used them).
But a friend purchase some ebay chains...
Done well over 3000Km on the original GX cassette so far (on 2nd chain). Getting a bit noisy on the big cogs now despite the indexing being okay, so i suspect it's approaching end of life...
I'm trying to run a reasonably light trail build, so paying for a GX cassette is just about justifiable...
The only way this will work is if one of you who will sign the petition, doesn't. Could one of you, instead of signing, just post here "Offset SquireRides objection", please?
I use it a lot, but not 'always on' - i just open the app occasionally to check location. When I do, it's never self centred. I always have to hit the locate button.
Playing with it now, i see there is a setting in the app's Android permission settings relating to GPS access. Mine is set to...
