Funny, the one bit of advice I have read is to use a fine tooth blade not a Carbon blade as the carbon blades have a tendency to rip the carbon.
Mask I agree is a must, maybe even something to dampen the dust.
Thanks for the recommendation, I was looking at these but was a bit unsure on cutting carbon.
What do think regards finish, I have seen some negative comments...
Wanting to change from a flat bar to a riser to shorten the reach a tad and increase wrist comfort.
Anyone got any recommendation for a 760mm (31.8mm) riser bar. I was thinking along the lines of a 30mm rise and maybe 9 degrees sweep..
Thanks
Check out the cost at your local LBS. It might be worth getting them to do it the first time.
Had mine done (tubeless ready from new) and they needed to change the rim tape.
Do you know what the current draw on this is. I have been looking at the possibility of hooking this up to the E8000 light output which I believe can cope with 1000mah at 6V.
Now you come to mention it, mine always takes two presses to switch on (always has), I thought this was just a curiosity of the system. Has this been recoginsed by you LBS as a fault?
When you say technical gremlins after washing, did you get battery drain?
Mine's a jam2 carbon and the only two tech issues ive had are the magnet for the speed sensor got knocked off (superglued in place) and after the first wash (which i didn't go anywhere near a jet wash) I took it for it's...
It's all standard stuff that came with the bike. Rode it again today, same thing but i'm now not sure if it's front or rear. Still can't see anything obvious, might try the LBS
So Isn't the answer lighter e-bikes?
If we are all content and accept that regular bikes are faster on the flat, then the fault is with the equipment not the rider.
We have to consider at what point it stops becoming cycling?
I think a lot of people (and I include myself in this) forget that above 25kph (15mph) it takes a considerable amount of extra effort. On average I believe it's about 90w at 25kph, rising to 170w for 32kph and 300w for 40kph (about 25mph). Don't quote these as exact as I know weight will also...
A lot of sensible comments and I personally think that a 20mph/32kph limit shouldn't be cause for concern, anything more and yes I think safety issues abound like insurance, forcing helmet law and use of public cycle paths.
I think a road e-bike would be safer in traffic with a 20mph minimum...
Pinging definitely sounds like it could be spring related.
I did do a quick visual check (check if the disc is warped, pad collecting the disc etc.) with no obvious result. Looks like it might be a strip down, clean and reassemble, check bolt tightness.

Short answer yes...
When I bought my e-bike, I picked what at the time was the bike that gave me the closest feeling to a normal bike that I could. I ride to and from my local trail twice a week and generally rode eco on the flat and trail/turbo for uphill.
So a couple of months into my...
