To be honest I'm a bit confused by this thread...
I looked at the Decathlon as I had never heard of it before which at £2.5k definitely lives at the cheaper end of e-bikes, so to jump to a £6k bike leaves a lot of room in-between.
Admittedly you didn't mention your budget but have a look at...
It's the E8000 shimano motor, according to the website this should be compatible with the bike.
What did you do about rear lights? I guess the rears use a lot less power so a small rechargeable unit?
Thanks
So I don't do a lot of night riding and certainly not trail riding, but I need something that's not going to break the bank, but will get me home.
I want the lights to be integrated into the battery (while we are carrying one round anyway, why not), I have seen a couple of lezyne front lights...
The Thron uses Bosch so a completely different size pack. 21700 cells I doubt would fit if the Shimano powered Jam's use 18650 as they are physically bigger cells.
Unless you can re-pack with higher density cells then I think the answers no, even then heat from higher density cells becomes an...
I have replaced with a set of Nukeproof Horizon with a 25mm rise, also narrowed the bars a tiny bit in the process as the old ones always felt a bit wide for me.
I drilled the center hole that gets hidden by the handlebar stem, so no problem with that one. might need some enlarging though.
I was thinking of drilling a hole next to the assistance levers on the underside of bars, trouble is I think it will end up full of crud and water so probably needs a...
For those of you that have changed your bars, what did you do with the Di2 cable routed through the bars?
The old bars I removed had an indent to cater for this and the new bars haven't. Currently I have taped it the bottom of the bar, but would like to drill the bars to make it internal...
I have the Jam2 C Plus, I think initially rated at 21kg....
What the big change to get down to 18kg? (ish)
I don't really have another 3kg of body mass to loose....
Thanks,
I was thinking of trying a smaller tyre but concerns over the tyre profile on the wide rim. As you said I do run really low pressures on these which helps with the predominantly gravel tracks I use, but it feels a bit heavy in the steering hence the want for a slimmer tyre (up front at...
I currently have a focus JamC plus so 27.5" wheels with 40mm rims and plus size 2.8" tyres.
I would like to fit narrower tyres (2.5" max) but I expect this will not fit the existing rims.
Any suggestions for a sensibly priced est of new rims (fully built with the RAT hubs would be useful)...
Similar in stature and I went (M) with a Focus Jam2. I think if I was shopping again today I would go (S). After a year of riding and a bar change I think either would work, but actually body position on the small I think would be better.
A quick bit of Google and I can see you can get these anywhere from 2500mah to 3500 mah, with varying Amp ratings 10a to 30a. Still no idea what the standard ones are (and I am no expert) but I guess it must be technically possible to upgrade with denser cells?
