Rockshox Recon Silver RL D1
I didn't bother with the fork rebound adjustment for my 1st ride. After that, when I found time, I took time to do a full setup of my suspension (in my house). I got the sag set front and rear, messed with compression and rebound on the rear and got what seemed like a...
I have sprayed Corrosion-X on the battery terminals.
I have a spare motor for my bike. I even sent that video to the manufacturer of my motor (Vinka) and they said it would be fine to douse the motor in Corrosion-X (although the reply was in broken English, fwiw).
I'm no longer going to concern...
I really wanted to like this helmet but I could just not make it acceptable.
Postage to return it would cost me $85.00 so I guess I'll need to sell it to someone here in the USA. :-(
Lesson learned.
I got the helmet today.
My head measures 56.25 cm. I've been wearing full-faced helmets for off-road motorcycling for over 30 years and never had a fit problem when I order a medium.
Dainese says their S/M fits 54-56 cm and their M/L fits 57-58 cm. No medium available. So I went with S/M.
I...
I resemble that remark. ;-)
During (gasser) enduro races I often have a quick smoke during the resets.
I have a small camera bag zip-tied to my chest protector that holds my smokes, torch, and compact ash tray.
Based on another thread here that I've been following, I decided that I wanted a full-faced helmet and I plan to wear it on most all rides from now on.
I eventually narrowed it down to a Bell Super Air R Spherical or a Dainese Linea 01. It took a lot of my time to decide because there's so many...
That's the hard part. Backing off the pace. And that can also result in crashes. Too much caution can bite you also sometimes.
I've been lucky in my 45+ years of riding and racing. Broke my tib/fib on a casual ride due to a rock that was hidden by some ferns. Caught my lower leg between the rock...
I ride/race enduro moto. also. I wear everything available for protection. Even a neck brace. It's a pain to don all this gear. Plus the added weight. And, of course, the heat in the summer. And Mother Nature still manages to find the chink in my armor now and again.
It seems the fastest guys...
I wish these deals were on my side of the pond.

...and a bunch of other helmet deals. They won't ship to USA. :-(
I've been riding and racing gas-powered motorcycles in the woods for over 45 years. I can't get any more protective gear on my body than I already wear. But Mother Nature still always manages to find the chink in your armor and make you pay for the fun she provides.
I recently got back into MTB...
I have a cheap set that has mostly worked fine. Except one of them that the wrench now just spins in the handle.
I wish I had bought better. But will $100 actually be better or just more China crap with a better warranty?
Blind faith in anything (including "top-tier certifications", etc.) may cause you pain and suffering.
Use the many tools that are available to you before making choices that have potential for serious harm to you and others.
I bought an aftermarket charger that allows me to charge as low as 1 amp (and that's the setting I usually use).
And It allows me to set it to stop charging at less than 100%. I usually set it to 80%.
This works great for me. I slow charge while I'm working and 80% battery is plenty for rides...
I just stumbled onto this thread. Good stuff.
Liquid electrical tape is very handy to have around.
What do you all think of soaking everything possible in Corrosion-X? (see video)
I contacted the maker of my motor (Vinka) and they said it should be fine (in very broken English).
I haven't been...
Welcome.
I'm still clinging to my enduro bikes (Gas Gas 300 and 1987 PE250) but the eMTB thing scratches the itch more often since I moved and don't have trails right from my house that I can ride my gassers on anymore. I have to truck those to legal trails now. :-(
This is the problem with rechargeable batteries. Some folks want to recharge them fast and to 100% every time so they have a "full tank" whenever they want to go again.
It's a bad recipe that's asking for big problems.
