Yes to all of the above :ROFLMAO:
It's quite hard to isolate at the moment. I'll try a drop of oil on each bearing on at a time & see if they stop. Sometimes they start halfway through a climb. I really need someone to run alongside listening to the bike.
Great reply. I appreciate your honesty. I too struggle to feel if the adjustment made is for better or worse or if it is even different. Echoing your logic I too borrowed a shockwiz to get my fork in the ballpark. It initially told me everything seemed ok but needed HSC. The longer I used it...
Ive thrashed battery tools every day for years & can't think if I have had a battery fail before the tool up. Is this just a bit of paranoia with bike batteries?
Rode with the battery out & still creaking. In fact I usually ride with music plugged in & didn't today - jeez what a bloody racket- I don't think there was one component on my bike that wasn't bloody creaking! I know now why people I am following pull off the track & wait 5 minutes till I go...
I'll try a ride without the battery & see if it is still there. I've tried pushing down & twisting from all angles but hard to get a consistent creak stationary.
One at a time to find the creak or oiled them all together? I've got one that sounds like from in front of the bottom bracket - like on the down tube - bloody annoying trying to find.
Once you found the source of the noise did you just leave it at that with a tad of oil or replace the bearing?
Looking at your vid I'd say pick which drops are worth doing to gain the satisfaction vs the potential consequences. If there was a drop/chute into dirt or trees that's one thing but that one there looked like a big fricking rock to land on if you got crossed up & prob others that weren't in...
Oh dear we didn't warn you that posting suspension questions will unleash a plague of angry wasps...
Have you had a look at the suspension sticky post above? Watch Seb Stotts videos & he will guide you through the set up & let you know what the compressions do. I had to watch twice for it to...
Now Shinns decided on the oneup bars (y) I've been interested in reading others experiences in attaining comfort for bad hands /wrists.
I've found the most expensive things have been the most beneficial. If I rate them from most plushest it would have to be Cushcores & lower pressure, better...
I just borrowed a mates trek LT7 (I tihnk) with a gen 2 motor. I heard a sound like brake discs tinging from below whenever the bike got around 30kph. When I slowed down it stopped. Should I warn him something needs attention or is it normal?
You'll be fine with one ups. I've found them really good for reducing vibration. They are 35mm so you'll need a 35mm stem.
If you're really after comfort look into cushcores & reduced tyre pressure - but thats another topic
Since we're replying to an old thread :)
How did you get on? I'm setting up my fork & wondering to add a token & drop pressure to get a sweet ride over the small bumps & not bottom out on the drops.
Your bike looks great. I have previously replaced the air spring head to bump up the travel. A coil will be ordered today.
Does your lyrik have a click sound on the rebound knob?
You actually rode on it? Did we forget to tell you it's really just for show? - like the plastic pedals some bikes have to make them look complete in the shop. ?
Did a longer ride today & really impressed with the upgrade .Really is like night & day when the going gets rougher. A few clicks of the LSC reduced brake dive very well.
I read a quite good review of the zeb vs .lyrik (on mtbr I think) & glad I didn't spend the extra. I can see the Zeb would...
