I've used a handy stone and knocked the link open to release the derailleur after ripping off a hanger.
Just make a U from the chain with the link at the end, support one side of the link on something handy and knock the other side of the link with the stone.
I just change the chain at 0.5, hardtail is nearly at 2.5k miles, full sus was at 1.5k miles when I changed from a sunrace 12 speed to a Shimano 11 speed due to crap gear change, no skipping or chain slip though.
I've been using Wurth dry chain lube, my chain and cassette stay clean, however I'm not sure the chain has lasted as long as normal.
I've just changed to an 11 speed using a new 12 speed chain, I'm about to fit a new 12 speed chain I have in stock but I'm going back to GT85 so I'll see if the...
It's of limited use off tarmac, and forgetting to turn off abs completely before a steep loose decent can lead to some serious brown trouser moments, and this is on a decent trail bike, Husq 701, with a relatively good abs system. I've seen people completely out of control down hill because of...
Forget about tubeless meaning you don't have to carry as much stuff, you stiil need a spare tube, means of inflation & tubeless repair worms, but you should have sealant in the tyre, this deals with most simple punctures and you most likely won't realise you had a puncture, worms seal bigger...
Had a good weekend at Kielder. North side has much less damage than the south side so we rode a selection of bridleways in the area, mainly to the south of Kielder but we also rode north shore.
Tyres made a noticeable difference to my hardtail Cube (625) but not 15 miles, I changed from Smart sam to a DHF2 and A conti Crossking rear.
I don't like the Tour+ as it seems to jump around the modes and can use more battery for me than the old Tour mode as it keeps jumping up to turbo when I...
It looks like we'll be just doing a couple of simple rides, it's more for the weekend away and coffee n cake run :) , would have been nice to try the cross border route but it's looking like a fair bit is still closed over that side.

Thanks, I never thought of the Bike shop. I could ask at one of the info centres but I'm certain they just say closed whatever with the whole public liability thing, we've been riding in the Lakes and while there's a few dodgy looking bits it's still safe enough if you keep an eye out. Obviously...
Hi all.
Me and my wife are heading over to Kielder this weekend, we were there last year for a couple of days and did the ride around the lake and a few other bit n bobs.
My wife doesn't do mountain biking but she's happy with gravel roads and the occasional harder section that she gets off and...
Tubeless with sealant is even more relevant to casual users who may not know how to change a tube, my wife would have a go but she'd struggling for ages and probably puncture the new tube anyway, so I've converted her bike to tubeless.

Slightly embarrassing, I thought I'd check the cover on my wifes cube touring and it looks like it'll fit with a tiny bit of adjustment to the bottom plastic part, and it's got a part number inside 17=03332 😳
Steve
Sorry. 2021 Hybrid reaction race. I assumed they were all the same but it looks like there's a few different ones, my wife has eventually found one for the HPC, mine is just flat.
Found one now that's part number 17-03332 that may be the same, stupid thing is the clip is separate.

Been out for a road ride with my wife today, about 6 miles in I noticed the battery cover on the front of the frame was missing. Been back over the route and I can't find it so now I'm looking for new one, tried ebay and a normal google search and can't find one for sale at all. So either I'm...
