Let's Be Careful Out There - Take 2 - Barbed Wire On The Trail

If this is the one I'm thinking of, Police 'talked' to the man on 3 separate occasions but he kept doing it, mainly branches down as above but in high speed area's where you might not see them in time. He lived right next to the woods and in the end some angry MTBers turned up at his house and...

What's the most durable ebike frame and motor?

How did you break the trek out of interest? IMO - A lightweight Ebike won't be any stronger than a full fat, reducing the overall weight could mean it's less durable. Weren't there a few people with snapped chainstays on the Orbea's?

So do I buy my first E-MTB new or second hand???

Just for balance - I ride with about 10 ebikers and all but one have had motors fail and were replaced under warranty. One is on his third motor within 2 years. These are all Bosch gen 4's and Shimano E8000/EP8's. I'd seriously consider the cost of replacing a motor or two if you were to buy...

    deristriction worry

You're missing the point, motors ARE designed to work beyond the cut off limit. For the warranty side of things, you are using third party software to remove the cut off limit and trick the motor into not throwing out error codes (eg Bosch). It would be the same if you remapped a car unless...

Boltby Bash Enduro, 14-15th May 2022, North Yorkshire Moors

I'm hoping to enter this one, probably on the pedal bike though. It's a really good event and a good mix of trails!

SRAM Code R brakes - opinions

Take the wheel out, push the inboard pistons back and hold them back while pulling the brake lever a bit. Do the outboard pistons free up? They might just want a bit of a clean and lube.

Help. Lapierre snapped, need new frame, no warranty, will parts fit?

Aluminium frames shouldn't really be welded, the heat from it weakens the material and is prone to cracking/snapping again.

    Official Merida eOne-Sixty thread

@InspectHerWheels I'm not familiar with this Merida part but can you remove your forks and have a look whats going on? Assuming it's just a part that sits in the headtube, has your crash caused it to slip further round limiting your steering more on one side? If you removed it, would your fork...

Local Route Knowledge Pls - N Yorkshire UK

Yeah there's a bit of a push that's not too nice to get you back to the road, but you can pedal some of it. I need to get back there soon, did the Ard moors after many pints the night before and legs had nothing left by this stage, I missed loads of gaps that could have saved alot of time if I...

Local Route Knowledge Pls - N Yorkshire UK

Some good routes around N Yorks moors but I usually avoid it after rain, it gets pretty sloppy! I can't remember too much tech on the bridleway loops I've done though. Guisborough forest has some good tech, carlton bank DH line is alot of fun, you can ride the full Ard moors stage to the bottom...

Local Route Knowledge Pls - N Yorkshire UK

Most of the Reeth loops use both sides of the valley. There's a road running down the middle back to Dales bike centre so it's fairly easy to shorten them. Here's one of the shorter rides that only climbs one side (DBC is the bottom right of the loop): We rode this one anti clockwise in the...

    Lights?

I'm using an exposure diablo on my lid, good light but the battery doesn't last long on full power (~1hr if that). I've had cheap ebay solarstorms with separate battery packs on my bars and have always been impressed for the money. The batteries are often old laptop batteries though so you don't...

How easy is it to sand paint off a carbon frame?

Friend of mine does this to his frames, he says it takes him about 10-12 hours to sand down to bare carbon by hand. The whole process takes him around 70 hours - He's a perfectionist and the results are amazing but it sounds like alot of effort...
