Unanswered Rear hub and cassette kaput, warranty not convering? BS?

Consumer Rights Act 2015 takes over from SOGA on purchases after 2015. If an item fails within 6 months from purchase it's upto the seller to prove a fault wasn't present at the time of purchase, after this it's upto you to prove it was. How did they fail? Is it just the freehub or the whole...

    Voodoo sh*t

Pump them upto around 40 psi with sealant in, slosh around a bit then lay the wheel down flat on each side for 30 mins (on top of a bucket works well) before re-fitting the wheel and dropping pressure back down.

Atleast the title's been updated to remove '(YES!)' ?

Article Can you trust an eMTB Motor in 2021?

Still early days but I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying you can trust a Shimano (or any other) motor in 2021. Known a few EP8's getting the E010 error code and needing a new motor... The pinkbike review of the SC Bullit even had it die on their test ride.

    Bike Park Wales

I'd be looking to borrow/rent a spare battery if you can so you can just shuttle up without too much effort and get as many runs in as possible. Not been on the ebike but my mate managed to burn through 3 batteries (500Wh) in the whole day. He had 2 and put the first on charge once it died. You...

All mtn 7. Ridden 38 times... And now this..

We all make mistakes but I don't think there is anything personal in what @Zimmerframe is saying so try not to take it that way. It's just about how we learn from them and prevent any further damage where possible... There's clearly an issue with the cassette or freehub so let's try work out...

All mtn 7. Ridden 38 times... And now this..

True, I'm pretty sure the rotor and pads were in the right place/orientation, I don't think it would be possible to fit the rotor between 2 pads and the pistons, especially with the retaining spring fitted. Happy to be proven wrong though! Boots I know you have a new caliper now, but something...

All mtn 7. Ridden 38 times... And now this..

I'm not sure if it's possible to fit the rotor with both pads to one side? Looking at the vid you've totally worn the pad material away, so the rotor was in the right place and not pushing against the pad backing plate. You've just run the pads right down to the metal causing the noise. One side...

All mtn 7. Ridden 38 times... And now this..

Then you say it's not a reasonable time to wait for the repair/replacement and request a refund on the bike. If you paid on credit card then do a section 75 claim if the shop refuse to help. If he takes the motor apart and can't get replacement parts anyway you won't be getting anywhere. That's...

Unfortunately you are just going to have to wait (or try get a refund) unless you are happy to strip the motor to work out what's wrong, voiding any warranty you do have. It's annoying but these things happen. My Bosch motor died after just 600 miles, my riding friends have all had motor...

    LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

    Kiox/cable issue need help

Looks like the kiox isn't recognising the motor/battery. Could just be the wiring but take it to a Bosch service centre to run diagnostics. I've had the same issues and local BSC think the motors dead...

Do YOU ride on Footpaths and How do you plan rides? [video]

Yes I ride on footpaths, if I come across people I just slow down and make them aware I'm approaching if they can't see me. If they moan and say I shouldn't be there (rare but it has happened) I'll just say something like 'I know, it's a rediculous rule isn't it?' in a friendly way and off I...

Battery Lock Keys. Yes or No?

The keys seem useful for cheap(er) ebikes that might get locked up in town, but for a mtb that won't get left unattended it's a stupid idea. My Bosch lock always freezes up on a cold day meaning I can't swap the battery out mid ride. I've also driven to a biking location and was unable to fit...
