Thanks for the valuable information.
However, I think there are some misunderstandings.
All written information about "wattage and batteries" is absolutely correct, but is purely basic physics and in my eyes is not really relevant for the discussed topics (but maybe nice to have for some...
As long as you don´t reach one of the 2 currently programmed limits (either max. torque or max. peak power) of the drive unit, you will go up the hill with the same speed. The peak power value (like also the max. torque value) is just a limiting value for the motor and if you don´t reach this...
I absolutely agree with these words.
However, Shimano´s thermal protection system is very sensitive and works perfectly.
So if motor or battery will get to hot due to excessive currents (which also can be on a "non-modified" bike due to extremely hot environment, continuous stiff uphill, high...
Take care: The display speed adjustment value (in the range of +/- 5%) will not change the real max. motor support speed at all! This value will only adjust the speed on the Shimano bike display, noting less, nothing more.
Also when increasing max. torque (to e.g. the max. value on the standard...
Yes, if @a_double has used EMAX just for changing the derailleur type, then he easily can update to a newer motor firmware without any problems or negative effects and the changed configuration (e.g. electronic derailleur) will stay the same.
If you will update an already EMAX speed optimized...
Thanks, that makes sense. So "they" changed the type of derailleur to "electronic" with EMAX software and then did the AutoShift configuration in E-Tube-Project. That makes things clearer to me.
However, I still don´t get the point on the question "Are there any precautions with firmware updates...
I don´t understand the question. What is your current motor firmware and is your EP801 modified already with the EMAX software, so the bike runs faster?
You cannot enable AutoShift with EMAX, that makes no sense - please clarify.
You will not void warranty if you will use the EMAX - optimization and just reset the bike back to the original settings in case there will be any warranty issue (which is easily possible).
Sure, but why are you not contacting EMAXX directly and asking here? However, this is not "deregionalization" like you call it, it is some other trick which makes the bike go 50km/h (not just 32km/h like in US - mode) with correction indication of all values on your bike display. On my bike this...
It is amazing to mount a 38 chainring to an Orbea, but I absolutely agree => the correct "chainline" (or chain alignment) is essential for a perfect ride experience on the long run. (y)
Smooth and soft gear changes under perfect situations are great and essential, however, only if the chainline...
I assume the guys from EMAX are able and wiling to help you, however, they most probably won´t do it free of charge...
But also most probably this scenario would be much cheaper and more relaxing than getting banned by Shimano and void warranty on your bike forever and the also not being able to...
I think this might be a quite risky job and chances are high that your dealer will grass you up to Shimano and then your warranty is gone. So I would let reset the bike back to non modified settings before going to the dealer or bike shop, at least I have done so at that time.
I think the guys from EMAX can help you in such situations and reset your bike to a "proper state" also if you cannot power on your bike currently...
I had a similar situation some time ago.
Please take care not to create confusion due to completly different bike models!
The bike shown on the picture above is a bike with the much older DU-E8000 drive unit and so this bike has another geometry than the new Orbea bikes with the EP801!
So maybe this chainring with 38 teeth will not fit...
Best is to (temporarily) disconnect the right hand side SW-M8150 shifter for the gears when changing the correct gear mode setting with the miniMax - program, because this way you still have the left hand side SW-EN600-L remote to power on the bike. The shifter is not needed to program the...
You can use the EMAX TUNING to speed up your EP801 / EP6 - I´ve done that too long time ago and it works great - works also with the new motor firmware 4.3.0.
Most probably not... (because your dealer needs special privileges which only some few Shimano employees have) to do this configuration change with the official Shimano software tool.
However, if you have access to a PCE02 interface and a Windows computer you (or also your dealer) can set the...
There seem to be different versions of the connectors from DARFON, see here.
Is there really a self adhesive seal on the female contacts of your new battery which you need to remove?
Or is that maybe some contact gel which needs to be there and should prevent E914 errors?
That looks really a...
