Definitely full face DH type helmet when I intend to ride downhill trails , alpine jollies ,bike parks etc
Sounds obvious but seen plenty of people riding those trails in an XC lid

Can buy singularly or as a kit , various beam angles and choices
Can be used front and rear or both due to ability to flip the lamp over and snap on / off coloured caps
Small but powerful lamps and batteries...
Organic pads for me all the time
They do wear quicker , but have plenty enough bite
Mainly though because they are much quieter in use
Pretty much silent in the dry , squeal a bit In the wet but usually only when first applied, the first bite on a wet muddy disc seems to deal with any crud on...
Ah well nevermind , I'm still firmly rooted in the likes of Zeppelin , Rush , Deep Purple , 80's classic rock and the likes of Steve Vai , Satriani and Joe Bonamassa but do like to divert and explore
I've got a lot of love for these Chaps too , and the Stunningly good Saprano phenomenon Tarja on vocals , she's easy on the eye as well ?
It really shouldn't work with a Rock/Metal band but it really does
