I tried skiddaw last year - went at it from the south near Applethwaite
Got about 1/4 of the way up - ended up with bike on shoulders, hiking over massive rocks, nearly had a stroke, came back down LOL
I guess it must be a lot easier from the North?
That's inevitable - when you turn the pedals the motor is powered up - but not engaged because of the cut-off so you get the passive drag of the motor applied.
When you're not pedalling the only resistance you have is the freehub spinning away as the crank isn't moving.
It was about a skipping gear - the mechanical reasons why that happens (limited amount of chain engaged, or wear caused by limited amount of chain engaged) and then the obvious conclusion that if you 're sitting in highest gear all the time you either don't pedal fast enough or your chainring is...
Same with cars tbh - why they need a 6 or 7th gear that can do 180mph when the speed limit is 70 is beyond me
Engine effort, economy etc... what are they?
I noticed that when I added the pic - that pic was straight after fitting the rotors and literally doing a few wheel spins for alignment and stopping with the bike on a stand
They're looking better now they've started to wear in, though I didn't change the pads and maybe should have :rolleyes...
Running 35psi on rocky trails is bonkers
Have you actually tried running a proper pressure before dismissing tubeless?
It's like having 10-20mm more suspension travel, there's so much more grip and a ton more braking force before the wheel locks up.
One of the guys who comes out with us bought...
I've fallen in love with Tour+ mode since I got it enabled
I used to use eco on flat trails and jump up to EMTB for the climbier stuff but on most rides now I just whack it in tour+ and forget, it's got a nice dynamic range so it saves battery on the flats but encourages you to spin up on climbs...
My standard rotors were below replacement thickness and I was going to go ice-tech as I had them on my last bike, but heard a lot of horror stories about them
I decided, against the advice of most forums/reddit, to get a pair of 203 hope floating rotors, and some shimano centerlock to 6 bolt...
There is no amount of money in the world would make me run tubes again
I've had 5 rides with tubes and 4 rides ended in punctures.
Have to run a high pressure to prevent pinch flats, weigh more, feels horrid.
I've even converted my gravel bike to tubeless now too and even though I personally...
I've had this happen on my bike, and my mate had it on his too (mines a cube, his the decathlon stilus - both bosch gen 4 motors)
They both happened in the same place on a very rural cross country ride but on different days, so we can only assume there's some sort of underground power lines or...
I had this exact same thing on my cube hybrid stereo - well it wasn't creaking before but after I did the superstar fit it started creaking
I took the fork out and whacked more grease in as I had been a bit light in hindsigh but still did it
I then re-torqued all the handlebar bolts and it...
For what it's worth after a day and going for a ride they have stopped leaking and....
- I didn't want to use gorilla tape, I've done it before, it's tons easier, but when you remove a tyre it knackers the tape and the glue is awful to get off
- I did try to pull the tape tight, it snapped too...
Yeah 100% it allows me to run lower pressures too without getting pinch flats so more comfort, more grip. It's well worth doing even though once a year I end up swearing an entire day in the garage lol
this is what I’ve always done but 30-35mm tape won’t drop into the recess
If they’ve gone flat again in the morning and I have to take them off I’ll post pics
