Your smartphone should have come with an inclinometer app or a "measure app" of some sort. Just lean the side edge of your phone and measure the angle MINUS the angle reading you get off the floor (just in case it not exactly level).

Not saying that this is applicable for your particular situation, but be aware that packing or filling up every bit of air space inside the battery compartment is not necessarily a good thing. Batteries do get very hot sometimes and may need some of that internal air space to ventilate somewhat...

Just do a google search - “MTB shin guards.” There’s rigid ones and soft ones. With or without knee pads. Thick or breathable ones. Lots to choose from.
