Sounds pretty similar to my current plan. I'm eyeing a 2018 Meta Power Essential simply because the price is so good compared to everything else. I might consider one of the other specbikes if I had a Ribbon Coil sitting around. The combo of a coil shock and the Lyrik that I can simply drop in...
I haven’t seen a spec anywhere what the max tire size is on these bikes. Will a 2.8 or 3.0 tire fit with the stock rims? Will the rock shox forks take a 29” wheel?
Thanks.
Yes the stack is lower but it’s a bit of apples and oranges. The Levo is 29” and the trance is 27.5 with a fork that cannot fit a 29” it’s pretty easy to tell where that extra stack height comes from on the levo.
I am not in the US, I'm in the US, Seattle area to be specific. I was first attracted to the Trance because the geometry was so close to the new Levo and have had some seat time on the first gen trance back in the 00's. I have a really hard time spending this much money blindly. If it were a...
For sure it’s easy to get a bike. Not so easy to buy without sitting on one or knowing how the system feels as a whole. I’m a tall bloke and don’t like buying things blind as they rarely fit even with a test ride. If no dealers within a 7 hour drive are choosing to stock them for the upcoming...
I hear you. I'm trying to figure out what makes the Giants stand out form the Specialized. I've spent the afternoon calling around to different dealers withing a 400 miles radius and have yet to find anyone that plans on stocking the Trance E+. That might make my choice between and Giant and...
I suppose you could say I might be a Giant. I've narrowed my choices down to a Levo or a Trance. I wanted to get a sense from the giant owners how tuneable the bike is with Giant's app. I know the Levo is quite refined in that area. I've started to wonder if the premium price for the Specialized...
I'm curious did you have a chance to ride the trance before committing to the Stance? If so I'd like to know what your thoughts on the difference between the 2 motors.
Thanks.
Awesome! I was lucky enough to spends a few days in Wanaka back in 2016. You are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. One of these days I'm going to find a way to move to the South Island. Just need a windfall of a few million dollars so I can get in.
I assume you mean in stack height. Well that means it is at least 185mm steerer likely closer to 195-200. Bummer the good deal was too good to be true, as they usually are.
I was wondering if any could tell me what stock the starter tube length is on a 2019 aluminum framed xl Levo. I found a fork that’s in the top my list lightly used and want to know if it will fit none of the dealer near me have bikes in stock yet.
Thank you.
Hi all
I haven't seen much posting about how the assist systems differ from brand to brand. I know there are more and more manufacturers adopting the Specialized approach of customization via an app.
I was able finally get a real ride in on an EMTB. I demoed a 2018 Powerfly 7 and the overall...
Right there with you. I have an 05 Montesa 4rt I Paid $3500 for used and DL1000 side car rig I paid $6800 for used. Now I’m looking T ebikes that cost more or nearly as much as my current motorcycles. It’s a bit crazy. I decided I need to invest in my fitness more as I don’t I’ve near as much...
I wrote to Evergreen this weekend about their position on EMTB access
I was pleasantly surprised to get a response at lunch today.
“Brian,
Good timing on the email inquiry, there's lots happening. We just presented options for pilots in 2019 at the WSTC conference to get a snse what...
I wanted to create a place here for Clydesdale riders to post about their collective experiences with EMTB ownership. I came to this forum because I want to find the right EMTB for me being a a borderline super Clyde at 6’5” 255lbs (196cm/115kg) with out riding kit.
How are other the other...
Hi Dave
I too have spent some time on the South Island and I’m envious that you get to call it home. I’m exactly the same height and weigth as you and would like to hear more about how the Levo is working out for you. Here in the USA we are a bit slow on the uptake for EMTBs and the choices are...
Hi @Rob Hancill if I become a patreon does it effect the amount of ads I see on the site? I love the content here and understand that things are not free, but the size of ads has become a bit of a turn off for me. I’m usually viewing from a smartphone so it might be better on a computer. I’d be...
At least in the electronics world “service spare” is synonymous for refurb. It is a serviceable part nothing says it must be new. If you get a hard drive or smartphone replaced under warranty it’s very likely to be a refurb in my experience unless it is less that 30 days old. Your used part...
