Hi all I wanted to pass on my recent experience with the Light and Motion Seca E-Bike light. I needed a new light so I can keep riding with a schedule change. I figured why not get one that runs off this massive battery I’m already toting around and save some cash.
Unfortunately despite there...
I’m 6’5” with long arms and torso. The 80mm stem is perfect. It is more comfortable and I’m no longer fighting as hard to keep the front end down on climbs.
There are a few online spring rate calculators tftuned has a pretty good one. From personal experience I’d guess you would need a 600lb spring. I’m running a 650 for my 116kg.
Once dialed in coils rock.
With my work schedule picking up and long days months away I’m thinking about adding a light for some night riding. I can get a quality intigrated light for a good price. Will adding a light require a firmware change? I tried to get to the light function of the setup today and the display just...
I don’t get this logic about ebike specific parts. Yes the bikes weight 20lbs more. Does a 220lb rider need Clydesdale spefic parts that a 190lb rider doesn’t? The same fork would work for either of them with the same riding style. I sure as hell hope that the engineering tolerances on major...
I have a “Stored Charge” refillable water fire extinguisher like this Buckeye 2.5 Gallon Water Class A Fire Extinguisher - Rechargeable Untagged - UL Rating 2-A
Been using it for years both mtb and dirtbikes works great to leave the mud on the ride. I Have truck so I’m not worried about things...
Saw this while loading up my new bike after a ride today.
It got me thinking how I started off thinking a levo was the perfect bike for me. Now I can make a custom mud flap from a few of the extra $100 bills in my wallet but my motor doesn’t have any holes so I don’t need one.
Well after fetching my bike from fedex yesterday I got it built up and took my first ride today. I’m still working to make it fit me. Might need to try an 80mm stem for some more reach. So far loving the bike
So much has changed since my last new bike way back in 2003.
I’m happy with how it’s...
I’ll add one. Yeild to all other riders. Since I’m trying to be a stealth as possible I yeild to pretty much anyone I meet on the trail. I can use my assist to help get start up the hill to allow someone else to descend. Trying to be an EMTB ambassador in a not very e-friend area.
Could be. For me it's because I am a true clydesdale rider at 116kg. When you get an air spring pumped up enough to support that weight there are massive amounts of stiction which result in a loss of suspension over small bumps. I'm going to give the lyrik a try for a couple months but then plan...
Don't forget you can convert the Lyrik to a super plush coil but the 36-ebike cannot be converted via an acs3 kit. This was the biggest deciding factor for me between the Meta and the Trance. Air shocks and the maintence that comes with them blow (pun intended).
Totally agree. I was originally looking at a base levo and upgrading to coil springs. Just that upgrade was 30% of the cost of the Meta Power. New rear coil and ACS3 kit and I’m all set for well under $5000. Hope it rides as well as I expect.
Well I pulled the perverbil trigger today. Mongo the Mango Meta is onnits way. I should have it in my possession on Monday. I’m excited to increase my fun factor while riding. Hard to beat the value. Total cost was $4188 shipped.
Going to be a massive change from my 2002 Turner Burner.
I debated the same. Get the 29 fox essential or a 2018 27.5 essential with the rockshox coil over and Lyrik. My biggest deciding factor was the Lyric can also be converted to a coil with an ACS-3 the ebike 36 actually uses the 34 internals and cannot be converted to coil at this time. I'm...
Can we get back to this thread about doing what we can to get along with other trail users who think we should not have any access because the are slightly different than other mountain bikes.
Bash Stava or whatever in a thread for that propose. We are way off track here.
As I said before in...
I’ve thought regen braking should be part of ebikes especially emtb. The motors already have a front flywheel. It would be nice to have a ebike specific free hub that worked more like fixed hub with a clutch for safety. Then the chain is always in motion and you could shift anytime the bike is...
I'm in Western Washington and it's not much better here. I have hopes that it will start changing, but know it will be a long process. I see EMTB as a a way to get back into mountain bikes. I've been riding mountain bikes before I could drive, but the last decade I've been more into motorcycles...
