Oooh this is up my street
I bought a hardtail cube during the first covid lockdown - loved it, did about 900 miles with no issues
The screen then died (usb port stopped working and it started turning off on it's own)
Took it to a local bike shop who do cube stuff, they diagnosed dead screen day...
Cheers mate, yeah I guess a bit more effort on climbing to get the weight forward but should be nice for downhills.
I've got a pretty big riser bar on mine too, I'm 6ft and not particularly flexible so it makes it a lot more comfy.
Have ordered a cheap stem and some ergon grips to have a go...
I was looking at those too - they look like they'd help
Got to be honest and say ashamedly I haven't bought them this year cos I don't like the look of them lol but it's probably time to start putting comfort above visuals.
Interesting read
I've been wondering about this recently
I have a 50mm stem on mine, it does seem a bit sluggish on tight turns but also I've been suffering with some wrist pain which I think is due to not having my arm/wrist straight on the bar, after going out yesterday I was thinking...
On ALL freehubs you have to service them.
I strip mine down every 6 months and replace the grease - should probably do it more often
Even if there is no dirt ingress the grease fails and turns thick/solid
You can usually tell they grease is beyond knackered when they stop making a noise while...
The only person who can answer that is you
This discussion is about as productive as the helmets vs no helmets one.
If you only get a few punctures a year, swapping tubes on the trail doesn't bother you, and you're not chasing PR's on techy downhill stuff - then tubes are probably fine.
Yep 100% - they're shite
I picked my hope wheels up for £250 with a big betty/magic mary combo nearly new
Not a single regret
I've kept the alex wheels in the garage with brand new maxxis DHR/Assegai combo and thought I'd hang onto them as a winter wheel or something, but honestly might just...
This old topic of "discussion" again
At the end of the day most of the "tubeless is a waste of time" people don't ride in rough terrain
Everything I ride is proper off road and downhill stuff and I would NEVER run a tube again
Me and a mate did a week in the Lake District - he got 3 punctures...
I've used stickers in a slightly different way on mine
I got a bargain factory rear shock early in the year, and after riding around on that for a while I caved and bought a brand new factory front fork too
Only problem was my bike was black with green stickers, and the orange fork made it...
I've got my mates haibike in the garage at the moment doing a service for him
Have to say in the year or two we've been riding together I was initially really impressed with the haibike's value. Very cheap for the spec, really nice forks, great running gear etc... but their customer service...
We got exactly what we asked for - a government that still follows EU legislation, and a country in economic collapse ;)
I'm honestly gobsmacked anyone expected any different, shows what you can do by painting some bullshit on a few buses :D
It's already happened in the UK
The new 2022 laws state
They have to have a camera system which reads speed limit signs and automatically applies a speed limit relevant to the zone you're in :)
Most people don't follow new car laws
You say that until you come across a 60+ year old walking a tiny dog on a bike only section of Dalby red route. Blind turn in the woods, middle of the track lol
100% mines off for the fun stuff and on for the boring road ride where I’d rather be going quicker and not holding cars up.
Even at 15mph a 22kg ebike hooning towards dog walker is more than enough to scare a lot of people
I have mixed feelings about these
When I bought my bike 2nd hand the guy had a speedbox installed as he commuted to work at a hospital and it allowed him to do 30mph every morning and get there quicker than driving. Then turned it off at the weekends for a dalby blast.
I immediately took it...
I've never really understood all the misconception about Tour+
I love it, do 90% of my rides just permanently in Tour+
If you're on a nice flat trail, you're using basically the same power as Eco, but if you really start to work hard on a climb you get a bit more like EMTB mode of assist. My...
