Oh yes, that useless Auto mode that annoyingly is the default setting on power up, along with 'lights on', like it's an old Volvo or something.
It's little wonder that Giant are in financial trouble, is it?
Really, would you buy another?
I did some CAN decoding on my Giant, but I've never had a Shimano bike to analyse the stream.
It might not actually be CAN, there's lots of other Comms protocols that would work. CAN is probably the best for the application because it's very robust and would suit well.
It's pretty dumb that...
Giant problems are legion.
Water ingress is the most common issue because the quality of the wiring installation is terrible.
I replaced the wiring completely on my Giant about two years ago and that side of it has been fine since.
It's had the motor bearings replaced twice but that was for...
A friend of mine bought an E8000 motor for his bike, no problem at all.
I'm sure that in the UK there's a legal requirement to supply replacement parts up to a certain age, at least five years but it might actually be 10 years. They can't expect you to dump your bike if the motor fails just...
The LAW around warranties is the the service schedule is met, not over who does the service, otherwise it's a monopoly and monopolies are illegal in the UK (unless you're a massive rip-off utility, they're exempt).
If the OP can show that the service schedule has been met, Giant should honour...
Is your battery ok?
I was surprised how long mine lasts tbf.
I bought the AXS for my Giant ebike initially, because the cable routing around the motor made upshifts VERY unreliable. They've since changed the routing and now come out of the frame rather than going around the motor.
Fitting AXS...
Some effort that is.
It'll have increased the anti-squat too because the chainstays with have a more upward direction. Probably got more initial bump compliance too with the more rearward initial axle path.
I've got several bikes, but currently only ride one with AXS. (Updated paddle, the standard paddle is crap and they need to just ditch it)
I originally had it set up like a conventional cable shifter, but for some bizarre reason I kept going the wrong way with it so I flipped it in the app, so...
Running mullet frees up the Geo options for the designer, be that shorter chainstays or a more upright seat tube for a given cockpit length etc.
For me I prefer the agility given by having shorter chainstays (allowed by a smaller rear wheel), and I'm just average height and buzzing my nuts on...
I can't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure that it (higher torque SL) was alluded to in one of the E-MTB YouTube channels, which are often an outlet for upcoming tech info.
As for SL sales, they're dire, just ask any bike shop.
As for a shortage of popular bikes, that's hype, there's...
