The Halfords one looks virtually identical to your Saris.
But I don't have three spacers under my stem. The end of the Falsie is mostly 23mm thick, but it increases to 30mm at the end.
I collected the Halfords False Crossbar today and it looks and feels like a solid and well-made piece of kit.
The trouble is that it doesn't fit my bike!
There is plenty of length adjustment, easy to do. The hooked ends are wide enough. It is obvious which end goes around the seat post...
First thing is to check your train tracks! On every tyre I have ever used, there is a moulded line on the outside of the tyre very close to the bead. If the tyre is properly installed, that line should be the same distance from the rim all around the tyre. If the line dips under the rim or one...

I have found the following forecast to be quite accurate, especially in the last 3 days. Mostly we will be in the woods, so any "rain" that is 30% or less you can ignore.
You may be correct, but there will be no harm in sending the pics and letting the experts have a look. They may agree with the "bead failure" claim, if so RESULT! If not, then the OP will have lost a few mins sending an email.
Thanks to the several recommendations for the Halfords False crossbar. I have just ordered one. My family never know what to get me for Father's Day! :giggle:
I clamp on the dropper but leave the front wheel on the ground to reduce stress everywhere. It is more like hanging from the saddle, but firmly clamped.
On the odd occasion when I need to work on the front, I rest the bottom of the head tube on the horizontal bar at the top of the work stand...
The tyre looks almost brand new and it looks very much like a warranty claim to me: "Bead failure".
Make sure the tyre is nice and clean and take a couple of pics of the tread and the bead area. Then contact the place you bought the tyre from. Tell them the tyre is almost new and that the bead...
Warning: I don't have and never have had a Speccy. (But I have messed about with shocks).
Some shocks have a travel spacer. Alter that and you alter the travel.
But first: Release the air from your shock and fully compress the bike. Check all round to see how much space you have. If you need...
I checked out the route today and I did 19.8 miles, close enough to the 20 I forecast. I spent some time cutting down some brambles that would have had your eye out and many lots of nettles that were taller than my bars!
The trails I rode were mostly deserted, no groups or families clogging up...
I haven't owned that many bikes, nor made a study of shifters, but I thought that all SRAM shifters were thumb only and Shimano were thumb and forefinger. I preferred the Shimano set up because the thumb was used for the heavy moves up to larger gears and the forefinger was used as the trigger...
The ABEC rating is the higher the number the higher the precision. For very high speed (20-30,000 rpm) air floated bearings ABEC 9 is appropriate, or maybe for precision measuring equipment. The opposite end will be used for skate board trucks. The tiny wheels hammer over gravel and if the ABEC...
You are dependent upon the designer for how long your bearings last. How and where you ride also has an impact, butv not as much as the designer.
I bought a Norco Sight 1 in Mar'13 and it was £3150 after discount, so it was not a cheap bike. That bike went through a set of frame bearings every...
Happy ebike birthday @Binhill1 :)
That is a good idea for something to celebrate!
I missed my 5th anniversary, which was 4th Jan'19. :(
Hang on! That's only two ebikes in five and a half years! I'm not trying hard enough.
Part of the reason for choosing Sat 15th June was to get the better weather, but even if it is raining, Pines in June will be so dry that it will just soak up the rain. It was going to be Sun 16th June until I noticed that it was Father's Day! Can't have you guys missing out meaningful time with...
Welcome aboard @weiran. We will be doing a fair amount of the new stuff on the red and the blue, but not all of it (just the best stuff)! It would be a shame to exclude it. :)
I don't wear a full face on this route, but many do. If you have any doubts at all then wear your full face, you won't look out of place.
I have removed from the route the two drops that I used to do (but still found scary) and deserved a full face. I dropped it because too many people were...
