I also have the most recent Whyte E160. Mine does not do this, but I am always pushing at least a little as use it to get it up the stairs to my flat (which it does superbly) or when I am sessioning trails. If you gently push from the saddle, does it still do it?
The ONLY time I even think about the weight of my 160 is when I have to lift the bloody thing. It's one of the best riding bikes I've ever ridden, E or not. That's not the same as me saying if you could magically knock 4 kgs off it I'd say no btw!
I've always found RS stuff easier to setup than the Fox stuff, although the Factory 38 on my manual bike is certainly a very good fork. I changed the damper on my e160s to the charger 3 from new. I removed the single token and I'm running very slightly more pressure (85psi) than the trail head...
My own (worthless) opinion. It's about effort.
Bigger disc=less effort
Less effort=more control/less fatigue
That's what matters to me anyway on long and steep descents.
I think the point was more that there are plenty of strong wheels that don't say "emtb" on them that would work extremely well on any hard ridden bike.
Done about 150km on this so far. All around Golfie/Innerleithen/Glentress. What a bike! Absolutely loving it, especially now I've got fork feeling much nicer.
Don't really understand this. I could be 100kg all up on a regular bike and you could be 100kg all up on an e bike. What difference would this make to the rims?
One of my local bike shops (Ride Innerleithen) has a massively discounted ex-demo '22 Pivot Shuttle. 9.5/10 condition and absolutely baller factory/xtr build. If think it's around 5.5 and comes with warranty. I demoed it, but went with the Whyte in the end.
Whilst it's undoubtedly effective, I just couldn't. Most of my e-bike rides are 2 hours or less, so I don't need much water. The YT bottle (assuming it fits) will be plenty. You could probably fit a small fidlock, given that you don't have the piggy back shock.
Oh, the answer was, the small fidlock does NOT fit, at least if you have a piggy back shock. I bought the stupid and expensive YT. It has not arrived yet.
Depends a bit on what kind of stuff you want to ride. If you are riding more mellow trails, then the maybe not so much benefit in going up to XL. 435 is very short for your size by modern standards, so no matter what it is likely to take some getting used to.
I'm 5ft7 and the medium feels...
