Surprised at the Galfer issues. I've been running them with Magura for a couple of years. Been on trips to Finale, Madeira and I like in the Tweed Valley where there are many steeps. Had no issues like this at all. Could it be some particular combination of brakes and pads?
Love mine too. It's also been faultlessly reliable. 4000km on original bearings. My Nomad 4 went through a set every 6 months! If your local trails are steep, I would definitely try a small back wheel. I've had mine that way for more than a year. It's been superb.
You can slam a 180mm OneUp dropper on a Medium Decoy. So you could easily run a 210 on an XL I am sure. The seat tube is 50mm longer and the dropper is only 30mm bigger.
As above, your wheel should definitely fit the fork. As the torque caps are bigger than regular, the receiver on the fork is commensurately larger. This means fitting a wheel without torque caps may require a bit of fiddling to get it to line up, but it will definitely fit. On rs forks I've had...
Some good deals on Lyrik and 36 now everyone has decided 38mm is essential. I always found the Lyrik a bit more "comfortable" and easy to set up, but they're both great. Personally I would avoid Ohlins if your goal is plush / comfort.
I have 5 bike shops within 6 miles. 2 of those I know very well and could probably walk in and get something looked at straight away. Two I just wouldn't use the workshop in and one would likely want to book me in for several weeks later.
