If you ride hard the fork and at least front brake will need to be upgraded to stay out of the bushes. I've upgraded the wife's base using kick down parts and the brakes are lacking for sure. If you have the money just be done with it and get the comp unless you like to tinker with things. The...
I have a carbon comp and the wife has the alum base model. We love them both and couldn't imagine going back to standard bikes. We're riding a few times per week rather than once every week or two. I'm down 17lbs since getting mine in March. Consider an upgrade on the front brake and fork if you...
Clips but only because I don't want to worry about losing the pedals when I go into the choppy gnar. Not needed to gain a pedaling advantage thats for sure. I don't lay into the pedals that hard with the assist.
'18 is better but they are also hard to get. I bought the wife a '18 base and put my left over revelation fork and guide brakes on it. I just found a dropper for 108 so that is on order. If you're wanting to save some money buy the base and upgrade the suspension. The comp suspension sort of...
Looking at the website it looks like it no longer comes with the ohlins rear shock and now a monarch along with the $500 increase. I feel your pain but I promise it's worth the wait. Most fun I've ever had on a bike!
I was just looking at the US website and they raised prices on the 18's 200-500 per model. Supply and demand? Tariffs?

I took out the bike last night with the fox factory shock and it's just how I remember it. It really holds up well in stroke compared the monarch. I agree the bike feels more balanced because it doesn't slack out from the monarch shock falling into the stroke for no reason.
I've had this happen after using the walk mode. The first time I turned off and back on and that worked. Since then after the walk mode I hit the + on the remote and that seems to override the bug.
I've about had it with my monarch. Really kicking myself for not swapping out for my fox factory shock on my stumpy before selling it. The monarch either blows through the travel or I have to put so much air in it on descents it's terrible and stiff as a board. I'm going to try some of the...
Local LBS told me in late February early March, then Late march, then early april, now late april. Finally gave up on them and found a dealer who got them in a month ago. From what I can tell specialized got a shipment in March but it didn't cover all of the orders so they were either pro rated...
Take a look at the bulls that has the ability to carry 2 batteries for 750wh. It's a clever idea to lower the weight for shorter rides using one battery.
