Ok, lets race then. See whose bike goes faster. Because it sounds like your mullet is leaps and bounds better than the 29, so you should have nothing to worry about.
Because it’s faster, more balanced, and more fun than a mullet bike.
Not everyone likes the same thing as you. I know 4 people with Decoys, and 3 of them got the 29er version.
I’ve only done 2 rides, and neither ran out the battery, but am curious how far you guys have gone on your bike.
Post up mileage and elevation gain of your largest ride. Let’s see who has gone the furthest and climbed the most.
My ride on Sunday should be easily beatable.
22 miles / 4800’...
Not sure about 27.5+ as I’ve never used it. I would think it would be perfectly fine to get you home, but I’d never run tubes for anything other than that in a plus tire. Or any tire for that matter. Lol
I believe shimano is seriously lacking on their software to not have a better app and at the very least be able to see battery percentage.
But since that’s not the case I just ordered a Garmin watch that will work with your program Mark. Thanks for that. Gonna sell my Apple Watch and maybe...
Mate, a 27.5 tube will fit perfectly fine in a 29” wheel. I’ve had four 29ers over the years and if I’m carrying a tube it’s usually 27.5 just because they fold up a little smaller.
Codes are fine if you don’t mind your lever pulling closer and closer to the bar as they get hot. RSC levers are a big upgrade since they have the contact point adjustment.
More upgrades.
Dpx2. Nothing exciting since the pro 29 already comes stock with this shock, but should help a lot for the base model. Factory/Elite models are unnecessary according to a knowledgeable person at fox, since the shock works best in this “setting” anyways.
Yt descends better than the Levo and is much cheaper.
Levo has better attention to detail, more power, better batteries available, and better software/app.
So what I’m getting from this thread is that if I want to see the battery percentage for my ebike with a 7000 display, I need to go buy a garmin watch that is compatible?
I downloaded Jan’s app onto my Garmin 520, but it would not connect to the bike. (Maybe user error).
Next upgrade:
Custom ex511 hoops laced to dt350 hubs. Nothing blingy, but tried and true and have yet to fail me. Also have a downhill casing DHF and DD aggressor tires. Exo is too flimsy for an ebike.
Also added their “water bottle”. May look into hip packs that have a water bladder in them...
Thanks for sharing the response. And big ups for YT for responding with what seems to be a very honest answer. I’m sure they get that question very frequently.
Gonna put a dpx2 and fox38 once it is available. I have a spare set of ex511 wheels that I really like laying around. Fox dropper and wolftooth lever off my old bike. And I’m a shimano brake type of guy, so those will be swapped out for Zee/Saints eventually. Not counting the parts I already...
I went 29 base only because there wasn’t a frame only option. And since I would switch out most the parts anyways, may as well get the cheaper one. And the travel is the same with both models. The weights are listed. Pro 50.9, base 53.3.
Here is the first round of upgrades. Much more to come, just waiting on parts.
Wolftooth lever and a fox transfer 175mm. Was gonna keep the stock dropper until I felt the lever. When was just gonna switch out the lever only but needed to take the seat off anyways to cut back the cable housing...
I did the same swap and I put in a 0.86 volume spacer in my shock. But I like it as progressive as possible. Not sure about your pressure, seems a little high. But gotta do what is necessary to get the sag correct.
