I went to a 40mm rise with a carbon Fatbar. Much nicer for my neck. No fitting issues. I did cut them down to 720mm as I find 800mm just catches too many trees.
Yes exactly. The Levo SL will broadcast all sorts of useful info to something like a Garmin Fenix 6 watch like I use, or other such devices. These include the power you are making, and the power the bike is putting in etc etc.
I was going to say that a key decision point should be whether you have a good dealer of either brand nearby. I would go with the brand that they supply. Then you have a good support point if anything goes wrong.
IMHO you won’t go wrong with the SL. It’s an amazing bike - I absolutely love...
+1 for Sealskinz waterproof socks. I found some long ones in an outdoor shop the other day and had my first ride in cold wet conditions a couple of days ago. I usually get very cold feet, but was warm as toast and nicely dry.
I haven’t figured out a decent jacket yet. I have a nice Paramo...
Buy coil second hand, and if you don’t like it, sell it with very little loss. Note though that you’ll need to get a spring that suits your weight so factor that into the price equation.
Three of us met up in the Surrey Hills for the second SL meetup. Things started chilly but warmed up quickly. This was my first ever time trying gap-jumps which have always freaked me out to the point of always taking the chicken line, so I was delighted to have some tuition from Steve and...
Three of us Levo SL riders met up in the Surrey Hills for another fantastic day of riding and learning to do gap jumps. Kudos to Steve who knows the territory like the back of his hand and set us up on some amazing trails.
With walk assist, I’ve found that you won’t feel it do much unless you’ve got the bike in a sensible gear such that the rate of rotation of the cranks in walk assist mode actually helps push the bike along.
I have a Levo SL and just put a DHX2 on it. It fits straight on at 210x52.5, including flip chip.
So far it is lovely and a big improvement over the standard air shock. I tried a few springs and have settled on a 600 SLS spring. Though pricey, they do keep the weight down a bit compared to the...
I put Guide Ultimates (the earlier version) on my SL. I really like them. They are very progressive and smooth, and not “sudden”. You can modulate your braking power very precisely. The variable contact adjustment is nice.
I have Shimano XT brakes on my normally aspirated Yeti. By comparison...
I bought a set of these:
https://ixs.com/en/bike/mtb-equipment/armours/1453/cleaver-knee-shin-guard-black
They are rather more robust than I think you are looking for, with no padding at the back of the legs, but i always smash my shins and not my calves. Combining the knee and shin protection...
I'm looking at a Pike Ultimate in 160mm. I don't ride anything extreme so don't need a Lyrik, and I think the Pike will suit the bike and my riding better.
I dry off the bike with a cloth, then use GT85 spray on anything that moves and isn't brake related. I wipe off the excess. Then some Finish Line dry lube for the chain.
