Time for blingy wheels. King hubs, Zipp 3zero rims, X01 block. Michelin Wild AM tyres at 2.35”. Getting out and about tomorrow morning - will report back.
Excellent work by these guys at Ace Bicycles near Guildford who are a really impressive, knowledgeable and helpful bunch. Take my money...
I came across two nice ladies on horses while out on my bike yesterday. We were all very courteous, and friendly in the British way, and we had a nice chat. But it struck me as really weird why anyone would want a horse. As I rode on I thought of 10 reasons why EMTBs are better than horses:
You...
I do have some Forcefield MX stuff actually, and it's great for offroad biking but too bulky for MTBing. That being said, I hadn't checked their range for some time. I've just had another look and reckon that it's unlikely that their stuff will be suitable unfortunately.
I think everyone is...
Thanks all. I’m sensing a gap in the market here. I may have to set up a MTB clothing company to fill it :)
I have MX gear already being a biker - it’s a bit too heavy for summer MTBing unfortunately.
I’m looking for some long trousers with inbuilt lightweight hip/knee/shin armour. I can’t find anything so if you have any clues let me know.
I’ve already got some Fox long trousers which are a game changer in the current bramble-overgrown trail situation but they don’t have any armoured bits...
"If you want to go into the desert, get a Land Rover. If you want to get out again, get a Land Cruiser"....said several wise people.
I had a Discovery. Fell apart. Literally something different broke every month.
I have a Garmin Fenix 6x as well and concur with @Stuart569. Taking your hands off the bars to look at the watch can be particularly dodgy. However the Fenix 6x is excellent, especially with the "Ebike Field - Nerd Style" data field plugin which pulls data from your bike such as mode, cadence...
Just set Trail mode to 35/100 and leave it there. The motor logic sorts the assistance level for you depending on how much power you put in. Excellent.
I got some Guide Ultimates from eBay for my SL. I really like them. It’s not instant on/off “bite” like you get with Shimano XT, but instead it’s beautifully controllable modulation, with configurable bite point and real smoothness. I like them a lot.
I’d like to thank @PaoloBLEvo for all the work he’s put into this.
I have BLevo running on my Samsung Note 10 in landscape mode on my handlebars with a Quadlock mount. It’s simply awesome to see all the real time stats in glorious technicolour, and then swipe to get a very nice map that has...
I bought the Park Tools deluxe home mechanic stand. Very solid indeed, and no problems holding my Levo SL up nicely. The legs fold up to store it away in a corner.
I’ve been looking for prescription “transitions” glasses at a decent price, but they are all mega money from high street opticians. I wanted a set of Oakley Holbrook frames which will work on the bike and in more social situations. But I also wanted cool blue mirrored lenses too. Plus I want...
I have the fluro red/orange SL too. What I really like is that the black bit under the motor is quite effective at hiding the motor size. Although the motor is pretty small, it looks nonexistent from some angles. A few people have said to me in my 4-day long ownership of the SL that they can’t...
2 rides to report on my first outing with my new Levo SL Comp Ally. I’m 54, 6’2” and 13st 11lb (87kg) by the way.
First was a 30 miler with about 3000’ of climbing up and down Leith Hill, Holmbury Hill, Newlands, and lots of the trails thereabouts. I was in a mixture of Eco (set to 20/60)...
I’m now a Levo SL owner!! So happy. Just had an excellent inaugural Surrey Hills ride this evening and the bike is just amazing.
Some ebay finds mean an XX1 shifter and derailleur, and Guide Ultimate brakes front and rear are my initial upgrades. I’m some way off Rob’s multi-million pound...
Please can you stop with this sort of thing. You've already cost me £5k for a new SL Comp and now you're throwing this nonsense at us? Have you no mercy! We're haemorrhaging cash here.
Seriously though, looks awesome.
