They're shite in my experince, and no substitue for a decent winter boot. That said, they can work for you but don't buy cheap. My riding partner has some Endura ones, which seem to work for him but are £50...
ODI Rogues for me, though I've been eyeing some Bontrager SE Elite's
as per davarello post 33mm.. I found they don't fall apart in 2 minutes but have around 3 or 4 pairs I've collected over the years, but have only ever replaced one set. The rest admittely maybe well worn.. but my point is...
Every year when my insurance renewal come though?
... more to the point, obviously you LBS does not see you as a valued customer (9K or not), shrug and move on, it's their loss not yours. Maybe next time, he won't assume you'll fall over to give him some of your hard earned cash.
TBF I gave up looking, and bought an Eddy Current, after my rim tape failed. As it seemed a decent excuse to dump the butcher... but thanks all the same.
Hey I'm not going to judge, TBF what little we saw (from a distance. we weren't aware the nudist section existed) was just fat older guys.. maybe you'd fit in & they'd like that?
I keep looking for these, but assumed the 35mm inner width would be the better choice, though now realise I was after a unicorn, as the 35mm is only in 27.5 wheelsize
My one outing on the beach did not instantly kill my e-bike or my m8's (Shell island to Barmouth, included a fly by of the nudist beach), even riding through wet sections, a year later it's still fine... just don't take the piss and eveything should be fine
Indeedy I’ve been using braces (not the teeth type) for years, as I’ve never found belts on mtb shorts to be any use. Currently using some Oregon Chainsaw braces, though they maybe overkill for padded shorts
@Binhill1, Yep, I'm not daft.. but I also carry a tubeless repair kit, which works well.
I may also carry the kitchen sink in my pack, as in the early days of my mtb experience, I had to walk 2 hours back to the car due to a puncture, never again...
Surprised to find that the Eddy Current seem to size up slightly smaller than the Butchers they replaced...
@jaggysnake
I find that making sure the tyres are warm before trying to fit them helps enormously, either by lying them in the sun or in my case leaving them to soak in hot water for...
I wouldn't run a bike without tubeless nowadays, a bit of faff to fit with but considering the amount of punctures its stopped*, it's well worth it to me. I can count on one hand how many times I've had to fit an inner tube over the last 7+ years, I can't count then amount of punctures I've...
Had a puncture in rear butcher, so taken it as a good time to rip it off & replace it. Couldn’t find any 29er E-Wilds which looked interesting, so have gone for a rear Eddy Current as it does seem the most popular choice on this thread
I've found Sealskins dragon eye (now known as "Waterproof All Weather Glove") to be very good & fit your requirments. Though I've never had a truely waterproof glove ever, unless you go down the neoprene glove route, which I find make my hand sweaty and manky.
PS: I use those in winter...
