Well of course people should do what they prefer. It’s sort of hard to plead poverty when you are riding such an expensive bike but you do have to draw the line somewhere. For $220US I think it’s a worthy upgrade but I am very into the tuning capabilities provided by the device in conjunction...
I love the current GX AXS combined with an Shimano XT Cassette, HG+ Chainring, and HG+ chain. You can absolutely shift smoothly under load and now that the AXS GX kits are on sale it seems like a good way to go.
After watching a couple videos about the new stuff by Peak Torque I'm a bit...
Looks like you guys are correct about being able to upgrade to the 54T. Thanks for correcting my mistake.
However, my Expert came with the Ratchet-LN internals so I do not think the above kit would be required. Just the 54T ratchets. That said, I have had terrible luck with the spokes on my...
No, I do not think so. The 350/370 use the star ratchet system and it is not replaceable with the 54T system as far as I am aware and I did look into this as I too was interested in the upgrade. I’ve been happy enough with the ratchet LN. I’d prefer to upgrade the whole wheel system than spend...
It has the DT Swiss 370 with Ratchet-LN internals. The hub works well but I have broken about 6 spokes. They are easy enough to replace and re-true. I got tired to dealing with that and swapped in some Ride Fast carbon 29ers which I am liking a lot.
I only switched to a 29” rear wheel because the Roval rear wheel kept breaking spokes. After 6 broken spokes I got tired of replacing and truing the wheel. The only spare wheel I had is 29”. For me so far it works great. No problems riding all the same trails as before.
That said, I will...
Moto problem today. Motor started slipping and making a loud sort of grinding/ratcheting sound under heavy load with high assist kicking in. It would basically fail to output torque because the cranks would spin as if the drive was slipping.
After turning the motor off and running it Eco mode...
The mudguard I used was mainly to keep mud off the back of the frame/pivot/motor. The SKS one looks like it would work well for keeping water and splatter off your backside though not so much the frame…..?
I love my E-Storia. I'm not a super hard hitting rider but I will say it's very stout and provides immense traction and a very smooth ride overall in my experience. It's also nice to know it won't blow out like the OEM. Confirm, LSK in Low snow picture is latest test run w/ 29" 2.5" Maxxis...
True. Both would benefit from the Long Shock kit IMO.
The LED TCU is a big plus in my mind as it allows you to gain full functionality of the Blevo App out of the box. I had to source an LED TCU for my expert for this reason. Blevo is a game changer for me and a huge reason I went to an EMTB...
Except the Pro which for some reason is not on sale with other non SWorks models.
Also, the base carbon model for $5100 only has a 500wh battery. You can upgrade the battery for about $1100 and resell the 500wh battery which after that switcheroo would be a great base to build up. The base...
I think it makes more sense to buy a Carbon Comp for $6700 and upgrade and sell of the unused parts. The frames are the same. I guess S-Works resale value would be higher. Lots are parts on the Comp would be very usable out of the box.
I’m running a 29” 30mm internal wheel with 2.5” High Roller with Tannus insert. Also running Cascade Long Shock Link in Low. The side to side clearance is plenty but the seat stay and bottom bracket is pretty tight. Can’t use my mud guard anymore. So far I’ve ridden some pretty muddy and snowy...
