Answered Why is it believed that speed derestriction damages the motor?

The US limit is 20mph so we’re all good, safety first ? Personally I think, in the UK at least, if we want to get more people traveling on bikes raising the limit should help promote that. When I used to commute my average speed was always over 15mph, so to me, 20mph makes sense. It gets me to...

Answered Why is it believed that speed derestriction damages the motor?

Raising it to the US limit isn’t exactly de-restricting the bike, we’re just rebelling against our EU overlords ? Frankly the EU limit was limiting the fun factor of the bike, I’m regularly pedalling above 15mph as trails and jump lines in the UK frequently demand that. However, pedalling a...

By the bike police? ? The US/20mph limit is fine for me, but I’ve got to say the EU limit is a little bit rubbish.

LBS: Attitudes, Bike Demos and Sales - ugh.

They’ll be reserved for the cool kids ? To be fair, I still choose my MTB 80% of the time, but that may change as I get older! I think as long as EWS, Downhill, etc draw big audiences then MTB will always lead the way. Same goes for amateur racing.

What did you buy your ebike this week?

Long version fitted to my MTB. I’ve got a long and short one so I can mix between my eMTB and MTB depending on conditions.

    2020 - Meta Power

I find that trail and boost provide similar max power, it’s just boost is extremely sensitive, giving you all or nothing. Download Steps Unlocker and de restrict it, makes the world of difference, turning mellow peddling sections into uphill flow.

When will we see a new brose motor

I’m just board if the ‘Levo vs Decoy’ and ‘Brose vs Shimano’ topics. I guess that’s the point of a forum to be fair! Get a bike, most of them are great, go shred!

When will we see a new brose motor

The thing is, I still have more fun on my MTB. Don’t get me wrong though, in the MTB world new stuff still matters, but it’s just not as important as it appears to be for EMTB riders. Having ridden motorbikes for the majority of my life, I’ll still take a sketchy 2 stroke or v-twin over the...

Help and thoughts Commencal or Cube

For me Cube is like the Ford of bikes and Commencal is like a Lotus or Caterham. Whatever floats your boat. I would say Cube is an all rounder, wheels on the ground type of bike, and Commencal is more point squirt and send.

When will we see a new brose motor

The eBike world seems to be so obsessed with what’s better and what’s next... better make sure I’ve got the “best” bike. Don’t get me wrong, I like new/better stuff, but it’s really not what counts.... it get’s the juices flowing though.

E8000 "bottom bracket" bearing play after 1400km

It will/should be there. Grab both crank arms and forcefully rock them side to side, it’s very subtle but there should be some slight play.

E8000 "bottom bracket" bearing play after 1400km

I’ve felt slight crack play in every e8000 I have tested, but I’m guessing yours was a more serious.

Not using the uplift service at a bike park

Mix of both, essentially the most direct route possible. Takes 15 minutes if you’re gunning it.

Not using the uplift service at a bike park

Fair enough, I’m greedy and have 2 x 500wh batteries. They will also charge your batteries there for a small fee, my friends did that and managed around 7 runs.

    Whyte e-mtb

Strange, I’ve never once had a problem keeping up with more powerful bikes with my e8000 motor. Just work on your fitness ?
