The difference between the Shimano 12 speed cassettes is in the sprocket material (and therefore weight), not the shifting/compatibility.
XTR = 3 aluminum, 4 steel, 5 titanium
XT = 2 aluminum, 10 steel
SLX = 1 aluminum, 11 steel
Deore = all steel
Good point, "bobbling" was the wrong word. I meant "stopping". So, starting on a steep hill from a dead stop. The initial acceleration is too high. I realize some people like this feeling but I *do not*. On the other hand, I want maximum assist and multiplier, just not the acceleration boost.
I...
Shimano bikes have 6 riding modes total. They are divided into two "profiles", 3 modes per profile. The modes are called the same thing in each profile (Eco, Trail, Boost). Profile 2 is just more powerful than Profile 1. You change Profiles using the E-Tube Project app. You cannot change...
Nion only lets you modify the assist amount. I have heard the dealer can install other modes but I want to change a specific setting :( Simple or not, the acceleration response is way to high. Think about bobbling on a really steep climb and needing to start again. In that situation the bike...
I have a 2021 Mondraker Crafty with Bosch Performance CX + Kiox. I realize there's no tuning available via the display or in the app. Wondering if there's anything you can do with dealer tools? In particular I'd like to reduce what we call the "Acceleration Response" on Levo motors, or "Assist...
You're in the space where you might be able to get the same power, but you *will* miss the range.
The Rise is an absolute ROCKET on the kind of riding you describe. I liked the Rise everywhere *except* really steep climbs (>25% grade). That's where I found myself redlining too much vs my Levo...
I've been on full AXS (XX1 + Reverb) for about a year. My new bike is full XTR with a KS LEV CI dropper. Reasons:
Cost obviously. If I break my derailleur or dropper it's an absurd amount of money to replace (aside from the absurd up front cost).
Weight. The drivetrain is not significantly...
Mondraker "forward geometry" is significantly different than everyone else. You can't compare reach numbers to other brands, it won't make sense. They run a 30mm stem for a reason (they actually wanted to run shorter but found "the market" rejected it).
I know CC says it's ok, but a 9.5mm shaft just doesn't cut it on these bikes IMO (unless maybe it's made from something super strong a la the MRP but even theirs is 14mm). Worse comes to worst, buy the EXT and save the CC as a spare for when you have to send the EXT for service :)
