Our eMTB's offer high power to weight ratio (95Nm at 21.5kg) and we are researching what size batteries to use in our next batch of bikes. Brands like to boast of large batteries but we find they are brands who make heavy bikes. We are not sure we want to make heavy bikes and are gathering this...
Thank you for your kind words advising us not to get range anxiety but that's not what we are doing here.
Everyone's experiences are different and the data is extremely useful to us; we are trying to identify factors which accompany the obvious fact that some riders just rely on assistance more...
I completely believe a local bike builder knows his stuff and £75 is an absolute a bargain, it costs us lots more to build a bike. Do you actually know anybody who has collected a bundle of individual components? I would be very interested to see if the bike(s) are displaying a CE Label like the...
OMG, that was unexpected; I'm a little surprised they can do it. We definitely couldn't do that, it would void our CE accreditation. We have to document every build from start to finish to comply with EU directives and ISO4210-2.
Build the bikes?! (Wrong continent). I would love to know more about this please. Is it possible someone could share one of these letters?
Someone will definitely buy them, it's too good an opportunity for consolidation to be missed.
We think Vitus owners and people who wish to buy them may be okay in the long run.
We received a piece of correspondence from Accell Group this morning (own Raleigh, Haibike, Lapierre, XLC, Sparta etc.) stating they have submitted a proposal to close their parts and accessories business in the...
Hi Adam,
I hope you are well and everything is good, I know you're a man with multiple eMTBs (assuming you still have the focus and kenevo as well as the vitus). I'm trying to gather some data about batteries. If you get a spare minute when you are bored do you think you could look at this...
I'm so sorry you have spent such time on it with no success. If the left hand cover is still off the motor you could pull the battery cable off the motor and use a multi-meter to see if power is going to the motor in case the battery mount is not connecting to the battery properly or...
SBJ, I forgot to say; when / if you use pliers to firmly press the comms cable into the motor, don't squeeze the pliers on the cable or the plastic end as it may cause damage but leave the jaws of the pliers slightly open and just use them to add more force than just your fingers. You should...
I was actually here for purely selfish reasons; I posted a question about battery life. I want to get some real-life feedback on battery sizes and thought there is probably no better place than here. I hope you're keeping well!
May we offer just the smallest piece of advice as we have used the M510 since it was launched and the M500 before it?
As long as both cables are firmly inserted into the back of the display screen, the next thing we would check would be the other end of the comms cable that plugs into the...
If you have 2 minutes to spare we are trying to collect some data about battery sizes and ranges. If you can spare the time to answer these four questions we would be really grateful.
1. What is your average ride length (time or distance)?
2. What size is your battery?
3. Does your average ride...
Hi Spangoolies,
Wow, that’s a pretty scathing and ill-informed critique but thank you. Also a rather heated reply to another forum user; I’m sure we’re all better than that.
The Vitus E-Sommet isn’t really comparable. The Vitus is an all aluminium, 11 speed bike, weighing 24.3kg in a...
Hi Yorkshire89,
Thank you for the positive message. All bikes are custom built so customers can have any colour and can change any smaller components like dropper, brake or gears; sadly at extra cost though. We are trying to keep the base cost low in the current climate.
All bikes are bespoke built for the customer (painted any colour etc.). We will happily swap smaller components like brakes, gears, dropper etc. for customer specified units.
