I had the same issue on my 9.8XT. Dropper would not move even when forking to min spec or even lower. Trek ended up replacing the entire seat post under warranty after first trying to replace just the cartridge.
They should just say what it is and where it stands in a transparent fashion. I am not sure it really is a serious issue as mine has not gotten worse. Maybe it is similar to the clacking noise the Shimano EP8 makes on the downhill, a flaw but not an issue that impacts performance. If I was them...
I think you are correct. they are controlling communication. Maybe Trek even asked them to do it. Something I would expect from a large organization not a small one like TQ. I will also try to send an email to TQ and will update here if I hear anything.
I am no expert, but one cycle is considered 0-100%. 30-80 would be less than half a cycle as it is ‘easier‘ on the battery charging that way. The battery should be most stable around 50% so for long term storage that should be the optimum.
Ditto. I have a Tesla and treat the TQ battery like I treat my car. I don’t go below 20% and charge to 80% on a regular basis. The reason why charging slows down the closer to 100% the battery gets Is that is more difficult to balance charge between cells and it’s easier to over charge...
I have seen that with the TQ app (not the trek app), cadence could be set to appear as one of the display options. However I have not been able to change it. My trek shop said, it could not be changed at this time. If anyone knows differently, I would also appreciate a tip here.
So far TQ @Roman has been radio silent. I have not heard about a fix or gotten any update. My bike still makes the same noise when the motor delivers below 20watts. If they try to fix it with a software update they would probably have to avoid the motor delivering any power below 20 watts which...
I am wondering the same. I definitely still have the issue. Roman did confirm that it is indeed an issue with the clutch and not just a noise that has no impact. Hopefully, he will be able to give us an update here soon @Roman.
I experienced a few issues you mentioned and also had a faulty dropper post. I also had the opportunity to return the bike to Trek even after the 30 day period but I kept it because it is just a great bike all around and is exactly what I wanted from an eBike. The clutch issue seems to be not...
A typical ride I do is 20 miles with 1800 feet of climbing and I would return with about 40 battery left.
i ride mostly in trail and weigh about 160-165 lbs ready to ride. Hope this helps.
I don’t have any noise or resistance with the motor off. I often turn it off on steep climbs on gravel/fire roads to compare times to my stumpjumper and the times are surprisingly close.
Yes, it is. There is a separate thread on here about this. It appears when the motor is only lightly engaged with less than 15 watts of output. Per TQ (Roman) it is caused by a clutch not fully disengaging/engaging. Apparently they are working on a formware fix that will likely try to avoid the...
I keep mine on wattage also. That is the most useful display. I don’t really look at range or battery details much. Cadence would be more useful to me as the motor is quite cadence sensitive.
How do I get Cadence to display on the bike?
I saw that I should be able to configure the information that is displayed In the various Menus on the bike.
the setup menu comes up by pushing the ‘on’ button on the display and the ‘down’ button on the handle bar remote concurrently but I can’t...
You are making some good points here. In terms of range, it certainly matters what you ride most of the time. my rides are usually 20 miles with maybe 1800 feet of climbing. I usually have 40-50% of battery left on my EXe and I ride in trail most of the time. weight around 155 lbs. I prefer the...
