Weight is listed on the website. You can just compare two bikes with similar build. It’s probably around 2lbs difference For comparable build.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I had a knocking sound coming from the cable routing on the left side of the bike. Removing the small plastic cable guide and setting the cables back into their position solved it. Maybe something else to try. Early on I also had a knocking sound that was caused by the headset not being tight...

Does anyone know how to identify the build date for a Fuel Exe and the TQ HPR 50 motor?

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. A trail I ride called Lost Valley in Missouri, is about 21 miles with about 1300 feet of elevation change. Pretty flowy and flat. I typically ride it in Trail (mid) mode and use about 60% of my battery. The other day I rode with a buddy on a full fat...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

Well, if you ever wondered how the Fuel EXe rides with the motor off, I did a field experiment today. Forgot to charge the battery and got to the trailhead with 6% battery. I figured, since I was already there, I might as well ride. First I had the motor off but the assist on. After about 5...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Power Application

I read some comments about the Torque sensor measuring rider input on early bikes was not very good and if that fails, I would think it could produce the issue you mentioned. I wonder if replacing the sensor could fix it. in regards to your last question, Trek has a 30 day return guarantee for...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Power Application

What you describe is what I had prior to April this year when the firmware was updated. Before then, in boost I would get assistance while accelerating but it would cut out when riding at consistent speed, even if going uphill. The software update improved it BUT I tried a different EXe on the...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

This could also be caused by a software update. My bike was very hesitant in boost and would never give me the expected power based on the settings. It also was cutting out when pedaled at a steady pace (not accelerating). A software update back in April improved that a lot.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I put the same tire on my 9.8XT As well and I love it after the first ride. It also took me a while to get it on. Could not do it in the stand so I put it on the floor and stepped on it to keep the tire on the rim While getting the rest in.

    TQ HPR50 Grinding Noise

I mostly use trail (mid) mode with max set to 200 watts. For a long time my high mode was useless as it didn‘t work correctly until a software update last April. I had the noise from the very beginning. It appears in all modes but only at watts below 20.

    TQ HPR50 Grinding Noise

Yeah, that is the noise I have as well. So far, I didn’t ask them to replace the motor. Figured I wait until I get closer to the end of my warranty period to ensure I get one that is improved. I might go this route next month. The fact that they are replacing the motors under warranty and not...

    TQ HPR50 Grinding Noise

I still have the noise on mine. Just crossed the 1000 mile mark on the bike. It hasn‘t gotten worse so I sort of got used to it.

I didn’t get charged for a firmware update. That seems silly to me As likely the update corrects issues from previous versions and doesn’t add features.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Power Application

I have had this experience on my Fuel EXe as well. A recent software update seemed to improve it quite a bit. Now I get power assistance much more consistently when climbing at a consistent speed. Before I would get the assistance when accelerating but then it would cut back when moving at a...

Mine did the same when I first got it. Greasing it and fighting to spec solved the issue. It was not properly assembled.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

There is good news today…. i had an issue on my Fuel exe 9.8XT that kept bugging me and it finally got fixed. in the high mode (maxed out) I would never get the expected assistance when climbing steep grades with a consistent speed. When I was accelerating, I would get a quick boost but then it...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I pedaled my bike uphill on a steep gravel fire road climb with the motor off but display on and did not detect any drag. The approx 3 minute climb took me 10 sec longer on the fuel EXe compared to my 22 stumpjumper pro which is 28 lbs.

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

I have a good friend in Bad Tölz (Wolfram). Nice Place! Here are the things I came across with my bike which was an early one back on Oct 1, 2022: 1. Bike came with the wrong cranks. Aluminum instead of e13 carbon cranks. 2. Headset was loose and not greased properly (shop fixed it) 3. Seat post...

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

That is interesting. I might need to have a chat with the Trek team then. Did you see the wattage on the integrated display or did you use a connected Garmin?

Fuel EXe Trek Fuel EXe Megathread!

the issues I have noticed were the grinding noise from the clutch which only happens at very low motor outputs below 20 watts. This is still an issue on my bike and has not been resolved. I sort of got used to it as it doesn’t seem to affect anything and has not gotten worse. The second issue I...
