The retrofit “cage” is the surest way to fix it once and for all. Maybe they’ll charge you parts-only but if not labor shouldn’t be more than 30 minutes. Until then, velcro!
I had a Trek (corporate) shop do it - there's one 10 minutes from home. I've since gotten to know the bike well enough that I might do it myself now, though honestly the $60-70 I paid was worth it, as I believe you need to pull the upper and lower battery brackets to fit the connector through...
Here's SRAM's page for the hanger, with some explanation of why it is what it is how it's supposed to operate - it is expected to rotate.

Mine was loose at purchase (rail 5) - be careful tightening it, when I did the hanger rotated as I tightened it and it cracked. Fortunately local shop had the hanger, bought two and I carry the spare n my pack.
i had same issue on bumpy descents. Trek shop tech showed me a trick: take off motor shield, loose the bolts on the underside of the downtube that fix the bottom battery bracket, take a long handled hex wrench and position it carefully past the motor onto the backside of the bottom battery...
That's a big ride on one battery plus lighting ... are your lights using same battery? I've not done any night rides yet.
The left side is the ride I was talking about - MB to Deer Park to WPI back down then Coastal to MB. The lower figure-eight makes up my two of quick daily after-work...
Deer Park fire road, which starts about 1/2 mile wests of the Muir Woods entrance. That trailhead is about three miles from my house (by bike, more by car) - about a mile up (to "four corners", where Muir Woods/Mt Tam roads intersect) then two down. Deer Park intersects the western/upper...
I have a twangy vibration from my rear disc when at higher speeds. If you pluck the disc you get the basic sound. Drives me nuts. At some point I'll upgrade to higher quality and larger discs.
At local Trek store (ie corporate-owned) I saw one of the techs screwing together a spare battery (ie lower battery cover, handle assembly, cover) for a customer - maybe call a Trek (corporate-owned) store in your area? Or you've done that already?
I’m in Marin and according to google maps I’m 4.1, 8.4, 10.3, 13.7, miles away from four corporate Trek stores. Another five Trek dealers in the same range. That said, I see a lot more Levos on the mountain - maybe 10:1 to Rail. Santa Cruz and Trek emtbs around the same in number. I don’t...
I relentlessly searched for inventory on trek‘s site - like twice a day or more for months - until an XL showed up last May and bought it instantly from a shop two hours away. I wouldn’t be surprised if it‘s the same LBS that @folmonty referenced - place is Santa Cruz seems to get a lot of them
I would think that lacking ‘sideburns’ that strap to seatstays it has to precisely form-fit whatever you call the crosspiece it straps to (used to called the brake bridge?) and the carbon version would likely wobble on the alloy frame
I stare at those hills every other weekend when visiting in-laws at Oakmont. We’ll be up there for a week over Thanksgiving and my wife knows I plan on riding there daily. Any suggested rides? Looking for an easy intro tour for my friend who has an ebike (and skills) suitable for...
