Yup - the 750 is 68mm longer than the 625. Eyeballing my XL I don't see how the down tube length can accommodate the 750 unless Trek opts for a non-removable (drop-the-motor-to-get-to-the-battery) design.
Oh well, at least the new software features are a welcome upgrade.
EDIT: the new Flow...
It definitely feels like a 1.0 release, lots of stuff missing. The Dashboard is rudimentary. Why just this, last, and best months? I have no idea how other motor vendors' comparable websites and apps are like, but if this is a good as it gets, there's a long way to go.
Search generally (ie google, to search other ebike forums). As cc_math wrote, sounds like Purion's batteries need to be replaced. From a thread on another forum, someone was able to get it running by turning the system on at the battery (as is documented in the Purion manual). On the Rail...
After making the adjustment, so far so good: on the rides (30+ miles) I've taken odds were good I'd have lost power at least once, and I haven't. The real test will be one particular bone-jarring ride where earlier this week I lost power 3-4 times over a few miles.
When I initially started...
I'm assuming you're getting the 625 Wh battery. If you get a 500, you'll need a spacer. In either case, in addition to the cover, you'll need the lower battery cover, the handle assembly, and associated screws. See page 9 of the sticky at the top of this forum, Trek Rail Parts Diagram -...
My issue is the battery momentarily disconnecting on a bumpy descent. Trek adjusted it once but it's still happening. Last week when at Trek to get my headlight enabled, I asked about the alignment plate in the context of the battery disconnecting. Tech said part weren't available yet, said...
Last week I installed a Lezyne Macro Drive 1000 in front, a PDW Kepler on the rear. About $120 total. With the Rail wired for the front already, I just had to fish out the wire from the top of the downtube. Rear required taking the cover off of the motor. The Kepler included the Bosch...
My problem isn't the battery popping out, but the battery momentarily disconnecting (and powering off the drive unit) when on a bumpy descent. It typically happens at least once on 3 out of 4 rides.
Trek (we have a corporate-owned store nearby) has already tried adjusting it once, I...
Congrats! I see Trek sells a different Rail 5 in the UK than in the US - we have just one color/battery (500) option, you've got two models (500, 625) each with two colors. More to the point, Trek's UK site shows three pages of e-mtbs, US just one. Shows you how far behind the US is ...
Is it a once-per-revolution click? If you lightly apply front brakes does the sound change at all? (Or, in case it's the rear try the rear brakes too).
Trek can toggle Tour -> eMTB-lite (will still show "Tour" on Nyon display) and on My Rail 5 I use it has become my default mode, rather eMTB - I'll kick it into eMTB and sometimes Turbo depending on the incline. Tour+ and eMTB-lite may be more or less equivalent.
Thanks for bringing that doc to my attention - It’s getting pretty warm here; time to remove and charge/store the battery inside where it’s cool rather than outside in the summer heat.
Yes, along Sausalito waterfront and over the bridge, then along the SF waterfront, ferry to Tiburon, ride home along the water. Basically the reverse rental-bike tourist route. Pavement makes it so easy, and most of it is bike/multi-use paths. Just need to mind all the tourists. A routine...
