Poppy that’s great news. Have you looked to see if you have any play in your drive side output shaft? I can’t imagine there being no play in that shaft at this point.
When you say most of the riding was off road, is it aggressive riding or beginner type trails?
Bearing Man- I did contact Michael and he did say he has or will be getting the bearing kits ready for sale soon. He also says he is going to be able to service the E&000 motors. Thanks for turning me on to him. He seems to be very confident about being able to service the E8000 motor.
S13 Thanks for your offer to let me buy the complete bearing set through you. I am curious if your supplier sends bearings to other Euro countries such as Madrid, Spain? Where I will be on vacation in Sept.
I am going crazy trying to find one, two or three supplies for the complete set of...
S13: Thanks for the reply. I ordered the puller from ALI and looked up the 8 bearings from the Netherland Bearing Distributor. Since the website is in Dutch I couldn’t tell if I could purchase the bearings for delivery to the US.
From what I could tell the total cost of the 8 bearings is approx...
So we all know eBikes create more insignificant wear to singletrack trails because they usually ride a longer distance than those people ride an analog bike. Due to a lot of insignificant wear to the singletrack trails in eBike trail areas the trail surface will require more maintenance to keep...
S13: Thanks for your expertise in trying to find the necessary bearings to do a complete overhaul of the E8000 motor. Shimano has done a good job of not allowing DIY and specialty company repair of their motors.
It’s interesting how other companies like Specialized and Yamaha are more open...
Canmore: In the US you can ride an Ebike in the National Parks on the same trails you can ride a mountain bike. The problem is there are no mountain bike trails in the National Parks unless you call a paved pathway a trail.
Accoustic: In the US there are several other reasons why some landmangers don’t allow Ebikes on the non-motorized trails they manage. One is that Ebikes are motorized and therefore until the landmanager redefines Ebikes as a special exception and they aren’t considered motorized anymore the...
watter: That would be great to have a video of the DIY E8000 bearing replacement , but I don’t think one has been done yet.
I live in the US and I still don’t know if there is a supply source here to obtain the bearings and seals to do a total replacement. I have an E8000 motor that has 7,800...
Gyre you make a good point about using washers on the brake caliper. Using the special brake caliper washers would probably mean the current bolts Chris has would work.
Chris the bolt size that would work is 2 mm longer than the short bolts. If the long bolts thread all the way through the treaded part in your picture, you could find someone with a hacksaw and cut them one millimeter shorter than the part you screw the brake caliper on to.
I have a sixteen month old Shimano 504 watt hour battery with about 240 full charges (one bar to 5 bar) on it. Lately I have only been getting a four bar charge on the battery and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I have two chargers and have tried both to get the battery to...

Every BLM office I have called is totally on board with the new ruling. They are evaluating each new non motorized trail for EBike use. I think the environmentalists are going to be wasting a lot of their money fighting the new ruling.
Chris:
If you don’t need to use any adapter to use a 180 mm rotor on that fork I believe you need a Magura QM45 adapter which allows you to adapt the 180 mount to 220 mm. The adapters you have don’t do that.

I have sent about six public comments to the land managers requesting those due to the NEPA process in my local area and surrounding states. I have been involved locally during the Categorical Exclusion process guiding the ologists on new trail adoption additions not needing a NEPA. I...
