Alex I am really curious if someone has taken the Shimano 504wh battery apart to install new batteries. No battery remanufacturer that I have contacted says they can do it.
I have a friend who builds large capacity batteries for his family’s RV’s. He is an electronics expert. He told me he...
If anyone reads my original post the supposed reason for the bike shutting off after 15 seconds was a faulty Darfon 726 WH battery. It took three weeks to diagnose the problem. Wires were replaced per Shimano’s warranty department request. That didn’t work. Finally I borrowed an almost new...
I have an EP8 motor on my Pivot Shuttle. The Ebike has over 5,000 miles on it and has been trouble free up to this point. Recently I was on a mountain bike ride when my bike came to a stop while climbing up a hill section. I looked at the display and it was blank.
I pressed the start button and...
Sid there are about 15 miles of secret EBike only trails at the best Mid Pen trail area. Those in the know have been riding those majestic challenging fun trails for at least the last five years. Unfortunately the trails are only ridden by those fortunate riders who invested a lot of energy into...
For those of us that won’t be purchasing a new EBike right away we can sit back and get input from those riders who have made the expensive purchase of one of the new SL’s and how they feel about their purchase after riding it a bunch. Those wanting to lay their hard earned money down NOW will...
Ron I do agree with you about “sharing the trails in a safe manner”. In the 49 page response to the BLM changing the definition of Ebikes under 750 watts to a mountain bike. The author (representing a LARGE group of supposed environmentalists) claimed that the two main reasons to not allow...
shakey can you tell me one USFS trail in the whole USA that waa designated as NON MOTORIZED and is now changed to a MOTORIZED status for Ebikers to ride?
ohm13:
You make a good point about Law Enforcement’s current activity of writing ebike violations. I personally haven’t heard of any being written in the US. I anyone knows of any, what was the fine amount?
I just changed to a new Shimano xt chain after 3,300 miles of use. I kept the same xt cassette and front chain ring. The number 3 cassette cog skip a little under load, all others work fine. I am hoping the #3 will work in after some light use.
I don’t use lube. I hot paraffin/Teflon the chain...
Rob let us know when you find the first National Forest non-motorist trail in the US that has been changed to a motorist designated trail to accommodate Ebike use.
Reborn I would appreciate you talking to an Inyo ranger to get a feel for that National Forest converting popular non-motorized trails to motorized trails. Please do a repost when you find out how the Inyo District Ranger feels about Ebikes in his or her forest.
RobG you summed up the problem in the US pretty well. My post is about National Forest trail changes from non-motorized to motorized under the new regulations recently introduced by the USFS.
I want someone to tell me where the first National Forest trail is located that has been off limits to...
Rob recently the USFS issued new Ebike guidelines for Ebike use on non-motorized National Forest trails. Read the new guidelines and go to the nearest National Forest office near your location and ask them to change the non-motorized trails in your area to motorized.
As far as the BLM goes...
So for those Ebikers who have read the new USFS Ebike guidance document, have any of you seen any positive movements in allowing Ebike use on National Forest non-motorized trails? Please provide a list of National Forest trails that you have seen a change in the trail designation
from...
