@Rob Hancill i’m not sure AXS is on that table (I’ve been using that to compare the Comp Carbon and Expert, NX vs GX). It appears there’s a 100g weight penalty on the derailleur too:

I like the idea...
Any Comp SL owners, or anyone who’s tested the alu Comp next to the Comp Carbon? Do they sound any different? I’m wondering if the different frame materials attenuate the sound differently.
A while back there was confusion around the spec of the Fox 34 forks on the Expert SL (the concept store had ‘Performance Elite’ but the main site had ‘Performance’). Well I got in touch with Specialized at the time and they’ve now got back to me.
The fork is indeed the Performance (which we...
There’s a lot of people out there who really value buying a whole bike too though. Not everyone nerds out over the spec to the degree we do here. For example, the universal assumption here that Fox 34 are trash when they’re fine for the majority of owners despite how hard they think they ride!
I really wish there was a frame/motor/battery only option. This too would be another game changer. There’s a lot of people who would rather do their own build on the carbon frame.
Nope, so what you‘re screwing is the independent’s cut. Have you ever talked to an independent bike shop owner and understood their economics?
Anyway, go and enjoy your YT, it’ll distract you from the SL threads. And don’t ever fall off, wouldn’t want to be one of those losers eh? ?
@Fojsum this is exactly why I go to my local bike shop (Blazing Saddles, Hebden Bridge, UK). Community minded folk and a part of a thriving Calder Valley cycling community along with people like Singletrack magazine.
@Fx1 this is also why screwing the bike shop out of every last ounce of...
@73Steff while we wait for the paint off weight figures did you get a weight for the stock bike with no pedals? There’s other posts on here that claim a weight I find hard to believe!

Great input Gary, thanks. Whilst not a rider like you i don’t like to ride and let the bike carry me around like I see many ebike riders do. I love a fast rolling ride and don’t need a tank so I’m willing to make a few compromises to get there.
I notice that there’s an ebike version now (same store but predrilled for electric point fitting by the looks of it.)
