Like I implied, I don't know if it is absolutely needed or just precautionary overkill but the Spech service manual shows it in photos so I'd be reluctant to apply too much pressure with the two point puller. A socket may work if the wall is thin enough to rest on the appropriate point.
I'm...
NOTE: The Spech maintenance manual suggest using the BROSE SPLINE COVER which is part #S17530006. It evidently slides over the splines and rest against the motor housing so the puller pressure is transferred to the motor housing and not directly to the drive shaft. I've never done it so don't...
You can always take the 6mm Allen hex tool and cut it down to 1/4" long +/_ with a Dremel type of carborundum cutting disc and then it should fit between teh plastic motor housing at the 7:00 position.
See post by Mike Smith regarding ring replacement or do a search:
Chainring replacement how to .. - EMTB Forums
No need to remove even the crankarm for only ring replacement.
If Water is the "solution", try washing only one pivot point at a time or spraying something like WD40 on each joint and see what happens. Since plastic does flex under load, I'd have left off the plastic motor surround to see if the noise emanated from there which would also relate to the post...
Try turning the cranks with the chain off of the chainring as this will tell you if the "drag" is caused by the brake pads on the disc or drive train induced.
Just to be on the safe side and not allow debris or metal filings to stick to the ROSENBERGER charging plug and foul the charging connectors I place a rubber end cap for chair legs onto the plug when not in use.
7/8" diameter fits tight and seems to seal pretty well...also available in white...
I’ve got to thank Al Boneta at Orange Cycle for getting us into our Levo bikes recently. Sounds like we were just in time. Thanks again Al!
Wayne & Shelly. ?
I had the same problem Stringbean, always trying to get the bikes out of the way or place them so they would not fall over. I have a sturdy Park stand for chain servicing but many tasks such as adjusting bars/brakes/shifters, saddles, fork or simply airing up the tires do not require...
I don't recall using Loctite on chainring bolts when working on standard pedal bikes and never had an issue with them becoming loose, however ebikes may require it. Loosening the CR bolts can be annoying when the backside slotted nut turns in place and if the bolts are being placed with...
1982, 5 speed freewheels, 35 pound mountain bikes with steel fork: This geezer thought his Diamond Back Apex was pretty cool then but laughable now....I'm guessing that 40 years from now we'll be laughing about current crop of Levo's, Bull's, Haibikes, etc. Bikes will probably be levitating by...
Hi JD. Been looking at your LSS thread and did wonder what part of Calif the mad scientist lived in. I think my wife and I happened to grab some of the last 2019 firmware Levo's so we're able to program with BLEvo when the need arises.
BTW, good work on the LSS and it seems with a bit of...
Hi Steve,
Don't be fooled by my trick photography showing the clean side of things. After leaving the building industry and parting ways with table saws, radial arm, lumber racks and assemble table, etc, I purged a lot of stuff and decided to have a cleaner & more orderly garage by stashing the...
Here is a pretty good resource to scout out trails:
Hazard Peak Trail Mountain Bike Trail, Los Osos, California
Got some challenging routes out around Pozo, Lopez Lake (ie: High mountain from Arroyo Grande). Some water crossing issues with all the rain we've had. Also some decents for the...
You're so close to Route S6 / South Grade road to the famous motorcycle street track up to Palomar mountain (pure lunacy to watch on the weekends). It would be tempting to put on some sticky slick tires and do 'supermoto' runs up and down the twisty track. There is also Nate Harrison Road is...

Had to make some bike stands since they are too heavy to hang from the ceiling like my other bikes.
I'm actually in San Luis Obispo County on the Central Coast which has some great road/offroad riding. Grew up in San Diego and lived there for 'decades'.
BTW, you must surf...
