Are you replacing belts now Al? :unsure: Could you determine a specific point of water entry? ie thru the bearing itself How are the bearings holding up and is there any other noticeable damage due to general wear & tear? Did you belittle the guy with the power washer? :D

Either the swingarm motion causes enough abrasion on the hose to frame contact point or a rock/limb has made contact and pinched the hose. It's surprising that the over-shroud was not extended enough to enter the frame and provide a bit more protection...be worth adding an additional layer if...

Perhaps a quick shot of dry lube would suffice and not attract grit later. Nice stand.
