    Reviving a dead BT-E8010 battery

Another update on the "dead" battery. I did a partial charge with the generic amazon charger, just to see if everything is working as it should. And yes, we have a nice 2.1amp charging current through the battery terminals and cell voltage is rising. I stopped charging after a couple of hours...

Shimano BT-E8035 Integrated Battery Issue: very fast degrading and loss of range

Yeah where does it say that battery health is the same as battery range? Could be that 50% health is still like 90% of its original range. And 0% health is 80% of its original range, or something like that. Go with actual range numbers, not a "health" number in an app.

    Reviving a dead BT-E8010 battery

While waiting for the generic charger to arrive, i thought it would be fun to see why my charger is not letting me charge the "dead" battery. So i hooked up a scope to the signals and powerline that runs from the charger to the battery BMS. There is negotiation happening between the charger and...

    Reviving a dead BT-E8010 battery

Alright! So far so good. Did a fair bit of trail riding this afternoon with the "dead" battery. And all was working just fine :D The battery gauge on the handlebar display is working correctly. It showed nice normal progression from full to almost empty. I stopped riding at ~20% battery, because...

    Reviving a dead BT-E8010 battery

So in regards of my previous post i will make a seperate topic about this. In short, yesterday one of my 2 batteries died. I had just been fully charged the day before, and when i was on the trails riding, i wanted to swap in this battery. But sadly it wouldnt turn on at all. No lights, no...

    BMS reset

Well ok, im kinda looking for an alternative solution while im on the road travelling ;) So i measured a fuse that is surface mounted on the BMS. Its a FR-9550-30A: https://media.digikey.com/pdf/Data%20Sheets/Cyntec/FR-9550-30A-(C01~C14)-B_Ds.pdf (i kinda thougt it was an oscillator before, it...

    BMS reset

I now have a similar situation. Was out on a ride today with 2 fully charged batteries. Charged them yesterday with no problems. While riding the first battery was ok, and when almost empty i wanted to change it out for the 2nd spare battery in my backpack. No luck, no lights would come on and...

Increasing the torque on a e7000? Maybe try overvolting? :P

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

Wait, did you put the OKS270 on the clutches? On all the rollers? OKS270 has PTFE in it, which could be too slippery for clutch bearings. At least that is what bearing man is implying i think.

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

ah the e7000 is a bit different yes. From your photos it seems it uses a wedge style bearing roller. So not round rollers, but wedge shape rollers. Im not sure if they could be causing your problem. Perhaps. They could be sticky or something? Perhaps giving them a good cleaning and regreasing...

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

Have you inspected the 2 clutch mechanisms? You can disassemble them, if you are careful. Look if the rollers are still ok and free to move.

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

Thank you for all the information! So i guess the next step is to modify the hardware for more torque? :p Or perhaps write a custom sw image? Since we know the mcu type and you have figured out the JTAG interface.

    Cassette replacement purchase question

FWIW, you can buy the sprockets on Ali too. Just search for "M8100 sprocket" and you will get some hits. Ive ordered from 0086bike Store and Chaser Store in the past without problems. The small sprockets are interchangeable between M6100, M7100 and M8100.

Why are you so worried about the torque sensor? It works, right?

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

Yes that large circlip seems to be a very loose fit. I havent had any problems however reusing it over and over again. Apparently it doesnt have to be tight in order to function properly. Replacing it couldnt harm though.

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

Good thing your noise issues are gone! I wouldnt worry about the sensor. If it works fine now, it will probably be ok. One thing though, you do not have to remove the circlip to remove the 2 short axles. When you remove the circlip, the motor clutch comes apart. Just leave the circlip in place...

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

Question 1: You need to pull both short axles out at the same time (as a set). You dont have to unscrew anything else. Just wiggle the one on the right side of your photo, and at the same time pull it out with your hands. What helps is if you slightly force the crank axle a bit to the right...

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

thank you for the picture. I dont know, i dont remember a thick washer in that place, but i replaced that bearing half a year a go, so could very well be. I cant check it now because the motor is back on the bike. However, i usually work very clean and methodical, so the chance of missing a...

    STEPS E8000 Motor Service

So, looking at this, i assume that metal ring is on there: Though i still cant remember that being a loose spacer. Seemed to be just part of the gear construction when i looked at it. Anyway, doesnt seem like that is the problem. And even if i did forget it, it would make the issue of the...
