Well, it was white, im pretty sure of that. But it could have been different from the plastic grease of course.
Who knows, maybe i didnt put enough grease on those metal gears? I didnt had a lot of grease because i was reusing it (i currently have pg75 on order). But still, it was the same...
Yeah sometimes those noises are hard to pinpoint.
Glad you figured it out.
So, new observation from my part. Ive done about 1000km or so since the motor revision, and over the last week it started making more and more noise. A bit like a whining belt sound, where the belt has a bad spot (the...
The loctite blue can be peeled of easily after it has dried. So if you ever need to go in there again, its not too difficult to remove. I dont know about the hylomar, but i assume its about the same.
But probably any liquid gasket would do, like Dirtnvert said.
You do want some sort of sealant...
I just took my smallest flat screwdriver and tapped it in at the top with a small hammer, at an angle and near one of the mounting holes. I was surprised how easy it was to open. The glue used by shimano is very flexible and has very little strength.
Once you have a tiny seperation at the top...
I agree, better to replace bearings when slightly worn. You dont want excess play to cause true damage of the motor (seals, cog teeth, bearing supports, sensors etc.)
You can buy the bearings from bearing man, or from the webshop links ive provided earlier. Or just look around, there are many...
ah then you got lucky! Scaphoid fractures dont always show up on X-ray. Mine didnt anyway (i got an X-ray too the day after the injury, they misdiagnosed, thinking it was not broken, and it took me months to get an MRI and CT).
Hope your one heals at least! A cast isnt convenient either, but at least you could have a chance for proper repair.
I didnt have any cast for 8 months. Also the upper part is necrotic now because blood supply got interrupted. Well who needs bones anyway right? :ROFLMAO:
So it WAS a broken scaphoid after all... Got surgery last monday. They screwed a pin in.
I broke it last november, so yeah, imagine the pain all that time. They thought it was just sprained.
Finally some relief thank god...
What is cool though, is that i now get to play around with these nice...
I think the inner bearing support broke.
Quite the distance you got there, but jeez what a mess inside!
It looks very dirty, or are those all shavings from an annihilated bearing race?
I think it depends on the material of the seal.
Some are installed dry, others wet.
For PTFE type seals for example:
Wet seals in car engines just get a dab of engine oil before installing the shaft.
Im not sure what type of seal is used by Shimano. I think originally they were installed...
So i got the 2nd one, the bottom image.
This is the option: Bearing Type: 12x24x6mm (matches 6901)
For pulling the main pivots, that is everything you need. I did need to slam those bearings hard to get them out.
Now the other bearings might need some different tools. A socket set and a...
Mounting 150's on my Spectral:On was the best thing i did for that bike. Period.
For my knees, pedal strikes, balance.
The argument that you shouldnt pedal in corners and you should work on your technique is ridiculous. Here in the netherlands everything is flat and not pedaling in corners...
Im quoting someone from the other topic here, so hope this works with the pictures. But here you can see one of the clutches on the main crank shaft. The first picture has the outer toothring removed so you can see the rollers with the cage that holds them. The seconds picture shows it with the...
There are in fact 2 clutches. One to allow the cranks to spin freely backwards relative to the chainring. This one is located inside the big black sprocket on the main crank shaft. Its primary goal is to allow you to keep the pedals still or moving slower than the chainring (in case the motor...
if you are interested there is a topic about servicing the E8000. Has pictures of the bearings, clutches etc.

Not sure what you mean there is drag when the motor engages? When it engages you should feel support, not...
The original ones in my motor show:
NSK 6805Z and NSK 6808D. However they are sealed on both sides so they are in fact NSK 6805ZZ and 6808DD. They print the number on the seal itself, so perhaps thats why they dont specify the full number on one seal.
So what i installed was exactly as original...
ok, just got back from a long test run and im actually very impressed!
Crank rotates sooo smoothly, no vibrations, no creaking, very silent. The engagement point feels very predictable again.
Absolutely love it!
Lets hope it lasts more than 6000km this time :)
I have shorter crank arms now...
