Just yesterday i read more or less from memory
*** failure a few months old bike about 2,000km***
if you search you can read what people write.
To me it is not acceptable but some are happy not to pay for
repair/replacement so you decide. If my 2017 reached 3640 kms no issue i do think a 2018...
We all now the Eserie from Specialized is overpriced but many others are.
I think the first thing is buying a bike that rolls.
Am i too old school?
The terrible record of numerous repeated problems is just insane.
People pay around 5-6,000 US$ for what?
The dream of a great bike according to...
I see a possibility that Ebikes will have the sharebikes ultra cheap no names version. People will buy 3 for the price of 2 wich will be 1/3 of todays prices than a ban will happen. Why buy brand X that needs 3 motors/year at 6,000$US when you can get 3 for 2,000$ that will replace cars.
If the importer/distributor give us the equivalent it might be 7,200$ canadian. Our transportation is more distance so like you mentioned it is an approximation.
Innovations are the problem. My 2017 is better than many 2018, 2019 and 2020. It rolls like a bike should. I read about 10,000, 20,000kms trouble free. Mine was bought recently, over 3,600 sofar.
I do not know much about disc brakes so first i asked online what brake pads i wanted. I had heard that cheap ones last less time so it is even. I have read that some make more noise or resist more to heat. Being a light rider not focussed on speed i knew i wanted the variety with good...
Yup i scratched my head 2 weeks ago.
My LBS was asking 49.99$ for brake pads so 100$ for front and rear.
I ordered online, received in less than 48 hrs real tiny pieces for 28$.
Not a cheaper version, the exact same.
There is some big marketing more than value IMHO. Maybe some retailers were scared by the big price tag so the solution was bigger price tag, potential to discount if need be. Potential to pretend offering interest free options to pay. Here when i look at a Norco i demoed and liked the 8,000$...
Maybe not you but some want a new one for the new generation battery, the new generation motor or are scared to be without a warantee due to poor quality.
Wich RM i have no clue, hopefully you select a good match for you. In the next week weather permitting i should try Marin and Giant with some luck they will bring Ebikes and i will be able to share my opinions.
OK, just talking round numbers. I am about 60, about 50 years ago BIC became popular selling disposable pens in Quebec Canada. Before people were buying refills. A bit later it was BIC disposable lighters, before an empty one got refilled. We were putting garbage in a garbage can than in plastic...
The problem is most companies are not building 2 wheels toys with a +, the motor.
They are building cellphones that have 2 wheels.
Allways new, specefic batteries so when you need a new one they decide what you pay because others wil not fit.
That price will make many say i will just rent a new...
Maybe you might watch some youtube video.
I have a HT Ebike 120mm and we simply use our legs and arms has suspension with the added benefit of the front fork that protects our wrists and elbows. With a decent padded saddle it is enough confort but off course we do not keep seated all the ride...
I guess about 3 years for my battery so after 6 years with the cost of replacing my second battery it might be time to replace it. We realy do not know. Maybe it will be tough economic years and no budget for toys. Maybe people will buy to use instead of car? Maybe people will buy from walmart...
Fisrt i have about 3.5 months experience on Ebike. If a fixed battery is something you can live with the RM is an easy winner. I like my 27.5+ Ebike but a 460 chainstay is a bit long. I played 2 hours on a Norco(lenght of CS like RM) it is just more playfull. RM has fixed their chain noise. For...
