So I recorded via the watch - indoor cycle - and from the Specialized App, into strava and then into the Health App.
Indoor Cycle - 533calories
Starava - 346 calories
That's quite the difference! Obviously I'd rather take the higher one but really I want the real one grrrr
As long as it's not blowing a gale (often...) it really is a great run. 55m each way, almost every day. The drive would take 45m and leaves me in a bad mood every time!
I don't think a heart rate monitor can be more accurate than a power meter because the meter measures true input, unlike a monitor which would mature less if you are healthier (and therefore not trying so hard but burning the same calories)
This is really useful advice thank you. Totally happy to do some work on the bike, something I can do with him as well :)
I think getting it up and running well now as you mention, then upgrading her bike in say 6 months and passing hers on to Him would be a great idea and much more economical...
Quick background - I have two kids, I'm about to finalise my divorce. My daughter, almost 8, got an Islabike for her 6th birthday and got into it when she was 7. I was going to buy my son (5.5) one for his birthday but my ex has preempted that with a second hand bike she got cheap / free...
This is so, so great to read. My daughter is 7.5 and she got a Isla bike for her 6th birthday but didn’t really get into it until she was 7. My recent purchase of the Levo has made me much more enthusiastic about going out as a family together, all on bikes.
I am about to finalise a divorce...
See this is great advice, I had no idea cassettes weren’t a solid lump.
I’ve already ordered the cassette, but there’s nothing to stop me changing the sprocket on the existing cassette and keeping it for the next time. Thanks again for the help :)
