Hi Benjiblanco a way off. That has maybe changed. If you are anywhere near Wilmslow there is a Trek shop there and helpful people.
Where are you in Cheshire ?
Just going back to the OP....has anyone compared the longevity of the SRAM 1299 (about £400) over the SRAM 1275 (about £200).
If damage is caused by power shifting on my SRAM 1275 (which I'm not convinced mine has) will the 1299, which is steel and is described
as being able to use when power...
Thanks for all the replies......I think the concensus is it’s stuffed.
A point on changing under load though. After reading on here ( @Gary I think) last year about this I have consciously stopped pedalling before shifting on this bike since new. Perhaps a couple if lapses but not often.

Is this cassette worn ?
I have fitted a new chain as my old one was at 100% wear. It is skipping the middle gears now. I am not sure if the cassette is worn or just out of adjustment. It has done 1300km (800miles). Can anyone with more experience tell from this picture? Thanks
Thanks Wilko58 i have contacted Whyte who said they think one should fit but haven’t tried it. I have one in order from Nukeproof so will post if it fits.....or not?

I have put a request into Whyte but it says it could be 7days for a reply + holidays so that’s a great help. G.
I have re-posted this form the Whyte section. Has anyone fitted a Chain Guide to a Whyte e160 rs......or any recommendations? I wondered if any of the ISCG guards would fit because of the tilt of the motor ? Does anyone know. Thanks
I had a retro fitted Kiox fitted to replace the Purion on my new Whyte. I haven’t tried before but today tried it and although the screen says walk- mode activated it doesn’t work.
Does anyone know if this is software issue or a connection missing. It worked on the Purion. Thanks
Hi Mike
I've not had any issues other than the brakes did make a lot of noise and I changed them for Uber pads and they have been a lot better.
The only other modification I had the LBS do is change to a Kioix display. It's waterproof (and my previous Cube hardtail had a Purion which failed...
Hi Mike
I’ve got the same Whyte as you and agree it’s brilliant. I came from Motorbike trials.... (Montessa was my last bike)
.....but a lot of techniques are different and needed quite a bit of falling off to get used to! Geoff
