Bosch Gen 4 - How to change the chainring?

I know this isn't a Gen 4 and I haven''t done it myself (yet!) but I wonder if the O ring isn't seating properly in it's groove ? perhaps stretched or out of shape and that is making it "squirm" ?

    Chain Ring wear

Thanks for the link. That does look correct and it's steel and a lot I have seen online are aluminium. I'm not sure they will ship to the UK so I will see if that part is available here. Thanks again

    Chain Ring wear

As I have the same problem I’m going to bite the bullet and order a 3mm boost offset chainring. I can check it against the old one when I take that off. If it’s different I will have to do a return and re-order. Before I get my next bike I am going to give the dealer a list of spares and ask...

    Chain Ring wear

.....but on the order options I have a 3mm offset Boost or 6mm offset. Does anyone know which is correct. I can't see anything written on the existing chainring.

    Chain Ring wear

Thanks Jammy. Yes I've done over 3000km now and I think they need replacing. I have the 38T, 175mm info but it doesn't mention the 3mm Boost offset. I was assuming that was standard ?

    Chain Ring wear

Thanks for the advice Gary. Putting there old chain back on has stopped the slipping. So would the advice be: 1. Replace the chain sooner before it is past both wear levels on the gauge. 2. Only replace the chain / chain ring and cassette together.

    Chain Ring wear

I checked my chain with a Silverline gauge and it says it was worn past the1.0 mark. I have got a new chain but it seems to slip and jump low end gears all the time. Is my chain ring worn ( pic enc) and should I have replaced them together ? Thanks for any advice.G.

    Loose cassette

Gary I think you maybe correct that I need a spacer as the locknut does seem to bottom out before it's fully tight. It doesn't seem too bad but when I ride again ( gentle stuff) it seems to come loose again. Do you know where I can get a spacer ? Thimlicek, did you replace your cassette with a...

Are spoke magnets a no no.

I think Trek (Rail) have it in the frame and it looks very neat. They also have a hinged charging point cover so the rubber bung (Cube) doesn’t keep falling out. Won’t affect performance and just design features but less to worry about!

Doesn’t that disturb the tape when removing the tube and putting the tubeless valve in?

    Play in cassette

I have cross posted this from the General forum. I have a Cube Reaction Pro and it has started jumping gears.SRAM 12spd. I have looked at the cassette and there is quite a bit of play in it from side to side. Can anyone tell me if there is an adjustment. Thanks G.

    Loose cassette

Thanks for posting that Mcharza. It shows how to replace the cassette but I'm not sure why mine felt loose in the first place. I did try and tighten the lock-ring slightly but there was still play, from side to side. I will re-assemble it and see if that works with the correct torque settings...

Upgrade fork on cube hybrid pro 500

Hi yes they will. I fitted them on mine, Cube Reaction Pro 2020. Same fork without the remote adjuster. If they are s/h make sure the stem hasn’t been cut too short. G.

Unanswered Tubeless setup leaking from wheel/spoke.

Which dedicated rim tase does anyone recommend then ? I have used Gorilla tape and it has worked perfectly and when changing tyres ( after about 5 months because of damage) there wasn't much residue. When I tried Stan's tape, yellow stuff and a bit wider. it seemed very inflexible and didn't...

    Tyre Widths

Thanks Steve That is really well explained and makes sense now. Might be a good exercise to see the difference. It is surprising that it does look a lot skinnier than the 2.5. G.
