I don't understand why Kenevo is consider a heavy bike. It weighs about the same as Trek Rail, Commencal Meta etc. Some seem to think 180mm travel equals heavy.
20-30 miles is quite a lot if she's not used to cycling or fit, I would get the FF. But the first question when buying a bike for SO, does he/she really want it? I mean REALLY want it?
One lap down the hill and I was done. 3" of fresh powder snow, absolutely no traction at all. Barely made it up the short but steep hill, pushed the bike with walk assist but flat pedal shoes had no traction either :D
I'm same height and ride a S5. Reach wise I could happily ride either S4 or S5. But pedaling position (top tube length) is not that long on the Kenevo, and S4 would be quite short and cramped. Long reach and chainstays make a nice, central riding position. It's superb climber. I really like S5...
If I got £/€/$1 every time a new ebike owner comes telling about drag, I would be a wealthy man.
Of course you're going to feel it when you lose 100-500W of assistance. Add to this you're couple of gears too high for unassisted pedaling and it will feel like hitting a brick wall.
