Apparently the 161 is a freight train downhill but as the geo would suggest needs muscling on the toght stuff - perfect candidate for an EMTB version, and if they can follow though on the value they offer with the regular 161 on an EMTB then it’s going to be a really interesting proposition. Seen a couple out an about in the Surrey Alps and they look built for buisness

Looks fantastic - if they can make it keenly priced like their other bikes, they'll be onto a winner.

Looks very nice - if they could put a smaller battery in - 300-350 to drop the weight a little and keep the weight off the front of the bike then i would be very interested

I kinda like that they've released an Eeb but I really hated the seat tube angle riding the normal 161. It was stupidly cramped seated. And it was a bloody LARGE frame.
Felt fine stood up though.

Love the GD, and the with a lot of the more recent bike releases its getting closer to some brands geo!

I kinda like that they've released an Eeb but I really hated the seat tube angle riding the normal 161. It was stupidly cramped seated. And it was a bloody LARGE frame.
Felt fine stood up though.
Yeah they are big bikes, and the ones I have seen in the flesh where all I think the biggest size almost Pole like, I think they have slacked off the seat tube on the emtb

The normal one isn't.
It's pretty nimble.

Just a decent cheap Enduro bike with a stupid/trendy steep SA making it horrible for anything other than long shite seated climbs and stood up. descents. If that's absolutely all you're ever going to do on it it makes sense.

I wonder why there's such a big gap between the motor and the frame? Is the frame designed originally for E8000?

I think thats very much a rough prototype, and not the finished article, I would suspect a bash guard of some sort would be installed on finished model

The Eeb, I've no Idea. But slightly longer stays isn't a bad thing on an Eeb. I prefer that my 170mm Eeb has slightly longer (10mm) stays than my normal 170mm Enduro mtb. Putting them right around the length of my DH bike's.
It's all a balancing act. One thing alone does not dictate how a bike will ride.

I meant the normal MTB version, assumed (wrongly perhaps) the geo is similar. Seems as if they are 446 mm in size L(?)/P3 and 452 in size XL(?)/P4. Not too long then, but definitely not short.

Out of interest, why would you want a longer chainstay on a eMTB vs a normal MTB? My personal preference is shorter chainstays for a livelier rear end.

Yeah. You're right Shorter is more poppy and rear wheel happy but that's not really what you want in a bike you climb steep slippy ascents with a motor. Likewise you don't want super short on a DH bike as it reduces descending grip and stability.
I too love short stays and a playful poppy bike . But super short stays have their time and place.
Stays on my mtbs range from a super short 395mm to more stable 455mm.
Horses for courses tho, eh?

I have lots of bikes. None aren't playful. Even my roadbike.
